Pigeon Forge GG

I looked up Defeated Creek....and found THIS
it looks really nice to me...and has all of the stuff available that I aint looking to do!!!

So Defeated Creek comes with a TT, dogs, trucks and pontoon. I'm in. :lmao:

Defeated Creek is one of our favorite CG for chill'n ! We go there as often as we can,,it's a very beautiful CG, well maintained, most sites are large to VERY large and grassy, onna lake, and the fish'n is pretty fair ! If we all went there I would bring our pontoon, :thumbsup2

BUT,,you need to make ressies VERY far out cause ressies are REAL hard to get in summer months.,,we would rather camp there than PF , so hey ,,if it can be worked out then we are up for it, :thumbsup2

Great suggestion Dave , :thumbsup2:thumbsup2,,
you'll set up the ressies right ??:rotfl2:

Frank and Denise, if ya'll are bringing the pontoon, will we all get to ride?:flower3:

I'll just say again that I hope I haven't derailed any plans that anyone feels strongly about. If everyone decides on PF I am still interested...just thought that if nobody was really planning on doing a lot of the touristy stuff we could all save some money and avoid traffic by going to a more "out of the way" location.

If we decide on Defeated Creek, we should try to settle on a weekend asap to hit the 6 month booking window. For instance, if you wanted a stay beginning the third weekend in June, or Friday June 18th , you would need to book on December 18th. I don't think it works like Disney dining where you actually count 180 days back. I think you just count back 6 months from the date you want to check in and you can book up to 2 weeks from that date, if that makes sense. The lakefront sites go pretty quickly, but interior sites and tent sites are more readily available.

In any case, if we are interested in this park we should decide on a time period folks want and then everyone can go on the recreation.gov site to make their own reservations 6 months before their preferred arrival date.

For me, the third or fourth weekends in June would work, as would almost any time in July or August. We might be able to swing some weekdays too in that time period. Even though we homeschool, May is pretty booked up for us as my DD#2 is being confirmed that month and there are activities nearly every weekend.

Maybe we should start a poll on what dates folks prefer?

You have not derailed anything! I get to see PF every week so it really doesn't matter to me where we end up. I just want to get together with you guys - wherever that may be.

We go camping with my best friend and her family in Jacksonville, FL for 2 weeks every June. I need to find out which 2 weeks that will be. July and August are definitely not a problem for us, other than it will be hot as snot.:lmao:

We love Clayboughs campground in PF. It has tent sites and cabins. The Townsend area is nice too and close to Cades Cove and close enough to Dollywood for those that want to go there.

Here is another monkey wrench.

It would be closer for you Southern people, about the same for us Middle Tennesseans but a bit of a drive for Liv.

Lake Guntersville Alabama. I'm sure Vickie and Carol could give us lots of info since it is in their back yards.

All what I see for camping there is the State Park. How hard is it to get ressies there?

They don't take reservations except for Holiday weekends, and for those weekends it's a 3 night minimum

It's a nice state park

Denise...wasnt it Lake Guntersville that we met up at when my family evacuated for that hurricane a couple of years ago? That WAS a beautiful state park!!!!

Sorry I am "bugging you" in the wrong thread, but I saw your Ft Wilderness Tee designs and would like to know if you can personalizxe the one with all the characters sleeping around the camp fire, see is our daughters first campout and we are very exited, my son Andres is a Boy Scout but almost and Eagle so camping with him is almost over, Ft. Wilderness was also his first campout so is a very special place for us (this may be his last as a family) :sad1:
That is life, in any case this is what we would like
Carmen First Campout
Briana First Campout
Zaida First Campout
They are between 3 and 7 so the shirts are going to be small, will appreciate very much any tips in tee printing, also if for any reason you can't help me I understand please let me know and I try to figure out something else.
Blessings Elcka

Pigeon Forge....Defeated Creek.....Lake Guntersville......doesn't matter to me! We need to start picking out dates or this thing will never get off the ground! So, let's start first by trying to gain some consensus on month, and after that we can discuss individual weeks/weekends.

May?
June?
July?
August? :confused3

May is kinda bad for me...so I'd go with either of the others if I have a say.

I like Lake Guntersville in JUNE,

but July and early August would work too....and Im going where ever you guys decide to go....Pigeon Forge.....Defeated Creek....Guntersville.....Hell in a handbasket....I dont care, Im there!!!

We liked Little Mountain Marina in Guntersville. They take reservations too! There is a nice boat launch, an indoor and outdoor pool, basketball court, miniature golf, and I believe a tennis court. The sites were quite a bit bigger than the state park. Here is the link: http://rvcampresort.com/littlemountain.aspx

That is close enough to us that we could go probably any weekend. I forgot to add, you'll need bikes or golf carts because the resort is so big.
