I am going back to DLRP in July and plan to stay in Pierre et Vacance as it has 3 bed apartments and a free shuttle bus. But I can't find out how frequent is the Bus.Does anybody know?

Also anybody else used P & V, what are your opinons?

I have tried to search the forum but just get a blank.:confused3

Can't help with personal experience of P & V but have looked out the following old thread here :)

We stayed as a family of 5 at P & V in August 2005.

My DH would prefer something more plush, decor was a little tired looking, but I thought it was fine for our needs.

We were only going into the parks for 1 day and so a package would have been a waste of money.

The public areas were very clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was fine served in a dining area near the pool. We didn't actually use the pool, didn't have time, I seem to remember time restictions on pool use.

The apartment itself was more than adequate, a wc off the hallway near entrance, the kitchen area and lounge wasn't huge and was one room with sofa bed, there was also a room with bunks at that level. Upstairs was a double bedroom with bathroom and a small balcony.

Our room was situated at the front of the hotel and from the balcony you could see over to DLP, great views of NBC, Panoramagique, the tip of the castle (hence fireworks) and BTM.

Shuttle buses weren't frequent, don't still have timetable I'm sure the earliest was about 8.30 or even 9 and were very busy. We walked across to DLP, at the time this was kind of a dirt track but lots of people did it and even with the kids aged 7,5 and 3 it only took about 20/25 mins, we did this twice as one afternoon we went into the village.

The hotel is very close to the shopping mall and the sea life centre. It's quite a walk through the mall to the train station, would probably be quicker to walk to DLP than walk to station to get the train there.

Look on expedia to get a handful of reviews on the apartments.:cool1:

Hi

We are just back and stayed in Hotel l'Elysee in Val d'Europe. Maybe someone else can confirm if it is the same shuttle bus for the hotel (Pink no 50) and P et V - I assume it is - was always full when it got to the hotel.
The current timetable for the no 50 from the hotel is:
departures from hotel: 0845, 0905, 0919, 0949, 1019, 1040, 1130, 1150, 1500, 1614, 1722, 1828, 1926, 1954, 2134.
departures from park: 0855, 0930, 1000, 1140, 1440, 1510, 1555, 1702, 1805, 1905, 1936, 2005, 2055, 2115, 2325.
After seeing the first bus packed and us having 3 kids with 1 in a buggy we opted for the train each day but I dont know how far it is for you to walk to the station.

Hi

I stayed at Pierre & Vacances last July. We had a one bedroom apartment supposed to accommodate 5, so cannot comment on the size of a 3 bedroom one. Ours was very compact and although we had no problem with the size (2 adults & 1 4 yr old) our friends had 2 young boys and found it very cramped! I thought that the location was great. Very near to the shopping centre which had a great supermarket & selection of restaurants only 5 mins walk away. The bus to disney is not very frequent. I think there were only 3 in the morning & they also pick up at Hotel L'elysee. You can also use the train (about 20 mins walk to station). We did try to walk, but got lost - I don't have any sense of direction! The pool was quite cold & my 4 year old couldn't reach the bottom in it - it doesn't have a shallow end. We had brought our own towels for the pool, but I noticed other people used their apartment towels. It got quite crowded sometimes with a lot of teenagers jumping in etc and the pool isn't that big, so not great if you want to swim or if you have young kids when it is crowded. We didn't have breakfast there, just bought stuff in the supermarket & had it in our apartment. The apartment was very clean, although showing signs of wear & tear. They do not provide housekeeping or changing of towels during the week of your stay, but there is a vacuum cleaner in the apartment, but no cleaning products or washing up liquid. Last July it was very hot when we were there - 35 degrees and there is no air conditioning in the apartments.

Having said all that, I would recommend staying there. The only reason I will not be staying there this summer is that we now have a new baby and I wanted to be walking distance to the parks so I can nip back to the room when ever I need & I wanted air conditioning.

I hope this gives you an idea of the place. If you have any further questions, I will be happy to answer them.
