Good Afternoon ladies!

I must confess, I am not a Disney Bride :scared1: BUT, I did get married this past month and I got a lot of my ideas from those of you who had a beach themed wedding at Ariel's (Thank you by the way!) I have been a long time lurker, and the one major thing I have noticed is how almost all of you love Randy Chapman and his quality of work. My DH and I decided to forgo a professional photographer at the wedding in lieu of having really good fmily pictures taken after the wedding. We have 3 kids (well, actually he dose, but they think they are mine too! LOL) and we decided to postpone our honeymoon for 2 months so we could take the 3 kids with us and have a family Disneymoon. I was reading through the posts and looking at all of your amazing pictures (and being very envious I must say!) and I got the crazy idea to see about hiring Randy to take our family pictures AT WDW!!! I called and he is very reasonable, and my DH looked over his pictures, and agreed!!! :cloud9:

So, my question is, since a lot of you have had experience in taking pictures at WDW, where do you suggest we have our pictures taken? I posted this on the family board, but got very little help, so I figured I would go where I got my inspiration from in the first place!!

I hope you dont mind me lurking and not actually planning a Disney wedding (not that I didnt want one LOL). By the way....all of you ladies looked so beautiful on your wedding day- very Princess-ish!

Thank you for all of your help, and for reading this far!!

I did not have a wedding at Disney - although I am looking into it for next year - but reading these boards the only thing I think is true is that you cannot have an outside photographer take pictures of you inside the park (unless you are doing a Disney wedding) - please someone correct me if I am wrong. I believe most people have used Randy at resorts around WDW. Grand Floridan, Wilderness Lodge and the Poly would be my choices. You can get some great photos on the beach at the GF of the castle. We have stayed at the WL and this is my favorite resort and it is beautiful. The Poly is beautiful also.

For weddings, to get pictures inside the parks the only way you can do that is through Disney's Photographic services.

I don't know if it would make a diffence that it isn't a wedding, but I'd doubt it's permitted.

There are a lot of beautiful places to take photos not inside the parks however, as lpizzuro123 mentioned.

Thank you so much for you very quick replies! I didnt want to actually take the pictures in the parks, but somewhere at one of the resorts. I have seen so many pictures taken at a variety of places, I am having a hard time figuring out where would be the best place. I have seen some pictures with a waterfall in the back round, but I have NO idea where those were taken. I am looking to do something a little different so any places that are hidden, out of the way, or even kinda off the wall might be a good idea. I have also seen some pictures at the WL on some really big boulders, but again, Im not really sure!!!

Thanks!

There are two waterfalls that I can think of - the big one at Wilderness Lodge and the one at the Polynesian. Both would be great photo spots. Also, Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside would be nice.

Animal Kingdom also has a lot of neat photo ops. But like was already mentioned, you would need to use Disney Photography. You can do one of those shoots as a family shoot without having had your wedding there. If you need the number for DPS, let one us know. We can find it.

Hi!

I'm not a Disney Bride either, but Randy is doing some family portraits for us in October, as well as photographing the Sweet 16 party we're having for our DD.

I asked him about doing some photos INSIDE MK and he told me that he CAN do pictues in the park..as long as it's NOT a wedding, but that he doesn't suggest it.

His reason was that it's usually so hard to not get just random people in the background of every shot.

He suggested that we do pictues at the Boardwalk. I did see some of the pictures he's done there, and I LOVED them!

We're also doing pictures at the GF, which is where we're having DD's party.

You might want to check out the sample photographs by DPS if you haven't seen them yet. They have a variety of family portraits that you could look at to get an idea of where to have Randy take your photos. Good luck!

Thanks for posting that link KellyJo! It was nice to see what DPS can do :)

Wow, those are impressive. We are hoping for a Disney wedding next year. As I was going through the pictures I kept saying "thats what I want" "thats what I want". Love the family shots with everyone in jeans and white shirts - this would be a great idea for engagement photos. I also really love all the bridesmaids in red - with the bride having red flowers. We haven't looked into photos yet and I know everyone loves Randy's photo (which are wonderful) but this leads me to giving a second thought to Disney Photography.
