I'm nostalgic and after my assistant manager brought in a 5 generation picture, I realized how amazing it is to have a picture like that.

I'd love to see any that people are willing to share..

Last year my parents gave me a framed photo of my uncle as a baby (before my dad was born), my grandparents, my great-grandmother and my great-great grandmother, circa 1939. It definitely has a place of honor on my shelf.

I'm not sure how it will scan in because I don't want to remove it from the glass. I'll try tomorrow.

I love older pictures. Especially one that tell a family history!

For some reason, my parents gave my brother an older picture of both my grandfathers in their military wear, but not me. I plan to hunt them down, get my own copies and hang them up in my house promptly!

Only four generations in this one, but here ya go:

I'm sitting in the middle of the couch. To my right (as you're looking at the picture, not my actual right as I'm IN the picture...) are my oldest daughter holding my grandson, my mother, and my dad. To the left are my younger daughter, a family friend and my son. And actually up on the wall above my son's head and a bit to the left, is a small framed picture of my dad's father...so in a way we have five generations in there.

I have a picture with 4 generations. My paternal grandparents, my parents, my husband and I and our son. It was taken about 14 years ago. It was just a snapshot, but valued just the same.

There is also a professionally done picture from when I was a baby. It has my paternal grandparents, my parents, me, and my uncle and his wife.

When my son was born we had 5 generation pictures taken with my maternal grandmother's side AND my paternal grandfather's side. It was pretty cool.

Fast forward almost 10 years, and we could still have one 5 generation picture. Neat in theory, but my Great-Grandma has been wasting away in a nursing home for years and years.

We have a couple--one with four generations of men from our family that was taken a few years ago when the boys were only 18 mos old. I think my favorite though, is one I have of DS and DGrampa (who passed away when DS was 2). DS is sitting on DGrampa's lap, looking up at him in wonder and DGrampa is looking down with a grin on his face. I get a little sad when I look at it, though, because it makes me wish that DGrampa would've had more time, so he could've gotten to know DS. I think Grampa would've gotten a kick out of him.

I have a five generations picture. It's my great-grandmother, my grandmother, my aunt, my cousin, and my cousin's son. It was in the local newspaper. I'll have to see if I can find it.

I have a 4 generation picture of my grandmother, mom, me, and my daughter, but I can't post it online. (long story)

Another fun thing we did was my mom came across a picture of my grandfather in his army uniform sitting on a rock at a lake. On the back of the picture it said the name of the lake, and the year. It was in the 40s during WWII. Mom realized that it wasn't all that far from where she lives now, so a few years ago she and I and my kids hiked up to the lake near Estes Park in Colorado in search of said rock. We found it, and took more pictures of each generation in the same spot. Mom had the one of her dad, then her, then me, then my kids all framed together in one frame. It is neat to have not only for the generational thing, but you can also see the landscape changes over the last 60 years in the background.

I have a few 5 generation pictures. It's my great grandma, my grandma, mom, me and my DD. I'll have to scan it. Now we just have 4 generations.

When I was engaged to DH, his aunt and grandmother set up a "generational" family picture (yes, I was included). It should have only had 3 generations in it, however, without telling anyone she was doing so, DH's grandma had the photographer guy photoshop in an old picture of her parents (DH's deceased great-grandparents) into the mirror above the fireplace everyone was standing in front of. The effect is...ummm...kinda spooky, actually.

I have several four generation photos. I also have an album that my grandma made us with (copies of) old family pictures. It includes a photo (the original is not a true photo but something else) of her grandfather as a kid and his mom. So that would be my great, great, great grandmother (I think). I guess it is good to come from a family that doesn't get rid of anything.

I have 3 different 5 generation pictures, one when I was a baby. It was my great, great grandma, great grandma, grandma, mom and me. My great great grandma died when I was about 8 months old.

Then when I had my son, we had 2 different 5 generation pictures taken.

First one on my mother's father's side: My great grandma, my grandpa, my mom, me and my son. We only got one of these taken as my grandpa died when my son was 10 months old.

Second one was on my mother's mother's side: My great grandma, my grandma, my mom, me and my son. My great grandma is 93 yrs old (will be 94 in March) and although she is slowing down, she is still fairly active for someone her age.
Anyway, we have taken a 5 generation picture every summer with all of us since my son was born. We have quite a few picture of us together taken throughout the years. My son is 9 years old now.

I treasure them all.

I was supposed to be in one years ago. My mom has five brothers and sisters and her parents all wanted a huge family picture taken...except in true mom fashion, she forgot to invite me. So, she calls me right before the picture is to be taken, demands to know why I'm not there (well, you didn't invite me or even tellme about it!) and of course I can't just drop everything to drive an hour away...she never lets me forget that one.

It was the entire family living. Except me. My grandparents, all my aunts and uncles, my sister and her new baby (she's now 19) and my aunts and uncles kids and their kids were ALL in town that day, too. Four generations. Bummer.

We have a few pics like that. But never too many generations in one pic. The last one was at a family reunion and is a pic of my dad, me and my sister, all three of my sister's kids and my oldest niece's daughter.

So that's 4 generations.

I have a bed that 5 generations of my family have slept in.
