wow - Loved looking at all the photos. Brings back a ton of really good memories. There were so many little touches and magic that Disney did and it seems a lot are gone now.

I pulled my old photo album from 1997/1998 when I was at the parks last to show my girls. There were tons of pictures from River Country, MGM Studios, and the Castle Cake I didn't have a chance to scan anything before I left for work so maybe sometime this weekend. I am loving this thread

Listening to MouseWorld Radio1 today, and they just played the entire soundtrack from Alien Encounter. I forgot how terrifying it was!! I miss it.

Tangentially-related question - is Duffy on the float an active character or a stationary "prop"? (Bad term, I realize) We love Duffy, and I don't think I've ever seen him in a parade. (Never been to VMCP.)

Duffy definitely has a "friend" - Duffy animatedly waved to us and blew kisses!

Speed It Up!!! Through the wonders of blue screen technology, chosen guests could dress in costume and recreate famous scenes from popular TV shows.

I remember going one time and the scene recreated was this famous one, (hence the "Speed It Up" reference)

Totally forgot about this until RIGHT NOW but I am SURE that I was chosen for this as a child and was Ginger from Gilligan's Island... is that for real or is my brain making it up?

I know that they needed the space for New Fantasyland, but I really think that trashing Toon Town was a mistake:

I have a distinct memory of them picking people for Gilligan's Island during Superstar Television. And I remember being jealous that they chose a girl to be Ginger and that girls wasn't me.

My little sister (a redhead) was picked as Ginger, my cousin was I think the Skipper, my Dad was Walter Cronkite, and me/older sis/cousin were the Do-Run-Run chicks. All in one show!
