We are considering a 6A on the magic with the warning... "Private verandah (All staterooms in this category include a solid white wall verandah.)". How obtrusive are the solid white walls on the verandah? Does any one have pics?

I don't have a picture handy but I have stayed in 6A cabins for last 4 cruises. The lower portion of your verandah wall is solid white metal, not the clear plexiglass like the ones in the middle of the ships.

It doesn't take away from the space. The only down side is that you have to stand up to see the water. The height is a little higher than your waist where you can rest your arms on it comfortably ( or at least is comfortable for me at 5'5"). With the plexiglass verandah wall you can enjoy watching the ocean while sitting in one of the chairs provided on the verandah.

It would be nice to be able to sit and enjoy the water view but I don't mind since it is usually really quiet in the back.

I'll see if I can find any pictures for you.

Just a point of information: The first one Bear 3412 linked above is a handicapped accessible verandah and is in no way the usual size of a NV.

Here was our NV on our first cruise on the Wonder.

A bit of the "love seat" on the side (LOVED sitting there!)

You guys are great! Hmm. I think I need to upgrade one step to a normal verandah though. I love laying on the bed and looking out at the ocean so I think that one is too high to be able to see anything.

Ok...the Navigator Verandah's (NV) and the solid wall verandah cabins are two different animals.

Here is a pic our solid white wall verandah on the Magic.

We had the solid white wall on our last cruise. Now that I have been bitten by the "verandah" bug, I would pay the extra and get the glass wall next time. I would have loved to sit and look out at the ocean, we had to stand to see anything. Fresh air was nice though!

Actually, we stayed in 6A and my 18 month old daughter could see over the verandah wall. I am not sure if the height varies by room or category, but we were on the dream, so mayb that's the difference. If I can find a picture of it, I will post it.

Really it was no big deal for us.

When you are sitting on white wall verandah balcony where does your line of sight fall? Can you see land at the water line? Can you see the ocean? Or do you just see the wall in front of you? I'm avg height 5'6".

On the Magic/Wonder you will see wall. On the Dream (the solid part of the wall is only shin high) you can see land/water or whater is off your verandah.
