Hi

I am trying to find some pictures of the concierge lounges at the DLH and GC. Does anybody know of any websites or have any of their own photo's to share?

Thank you :flower:

Can you believe we stayed at the Grand and had concierge for 4 nights and i completely forgot to take pics of it? I'm a scrapbooker too!

I will tell you it is very nice in there. Lots of little tables and chairs, a nice deck to sit on. They have newspapers, games, a computer, a restroom, the food area, a tv and couch area, etc...

Sorry i dont have pics!

Thanks for your reply! I am torn between the original and magical look of the DLH and the theming and luxury of the GCH. I think the children would prefer the DLH pool, but the special entrance to the park from GCH sounds great.

How did you rate the concierge at GCH? Is there a nice view from the deck? Can you see the fireworks?

Thank you!!

It was fantastic and i would do it again in a heartbeat! We did not watch the fireworks from the lounge, but we were told that they pipe in the music and you can see them quite well!

Here is my review i posted a while ago:

When we arrived, someone from concierge was there to greet us. They took us up to the 6th floor and while I checked in, the cousins and Des were taken to the lounge. Check in was fast. Our room was not ready, but they would call my cell and let me know what room it was when it was ready. Our keys were already activated so we could just go to the room when it was ready! I joined the others in the lounge. Wow, what a spread!

Breakfast (6:30am-10am) bagels and cream cheese (butter, jam, and peanut butter too!), fruit, muffins, croissants, cereal, milk, coffee, juice, soda, and water.

Tea time (11am-4pm) three different kinds of little sandwiches, fruit, cookies (they were delicious), chocolate covered strawberries, cranberry/orange Mickey shaped scones, coffee, tea, soda’s, water, etc…

Wine & Beer time (5pm-7pm) veggies, pb&j for the kids, cheese and crackers, and one hot item (mini quiches, crab cakes, etc…)

Milk & cookie time (8pm-10pm) milk, cookies, and various desserts

All day long – water and soda

Thanks for your reply. I am tempted to go for GC at the moment. I just love the look of the lobby and the views :goodvibes

I have one other question - did you check-in on the 6th floor? I read somewhere (I think it was Mousesavers) that concierge guests have to join the regular check-in line but simply get a CM to stand with them.

so the coffee wasn't all day long ?
I was wondering this too....I hope it is available all day....

Thanks for the link! I never thought to look at wdwinfo.com!

The rooms at the DLH look very small in this picture....hoW do they compare to the GC? Also, are roll-away beds available so that rooms can accommodate five guests? Thanks!

We stayed on the GCH concierge level in November and loved it! We were met outside and escorted directly to the 6th floor. All of the foods that were mentioned above were delicious and fresh. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I don't know for sure if it was served all day. The staff was very accomodating. My brother asked for yogurt and they got it for him and DD wanted chocolate milk one morning and they got some for her as well. The lounge was very nice and even more so with the Christmas decorations. I don't know how good the fireworks view would be since they were cancelled all but one night during our stay due to high winds. Our room was one of the ones with a daybed. It is not a full sized daybed, but my DD (11) was comfortable. There were 5 of us in the room, 4 adults and DD, and we had plenty of room. In fact, my brother & mom both had electric scooters and we were still not cramped. We absolutely loved the access to CA & the quick walk to DL. We've all agreed that we got totally spoiled and could only stay at the GCH again. Mom & I are taking DD back to a dance competition in June and we're trying to find a way to add some extra days there. Hopefully we can squeeze out a few DVC points to use. Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience :flower: It sounds wonderful. Do you have to put in a special request for the daybed then? There will be 5 of us (DH and myself plus our three young children) and we will really need a third bed if possible. I'm glad the room was so spacious, did you have a nice view and/or a balcony?

That picture does make the room look small, but I would say it just becuase of where it was taken. I believe the Grand Californian rooms are actually a bit smaller than DL Hotel rooms. We stayed at the DL Hotel back in August and I remember my DH (who notices nothing) commenting on what a good size room we had.

The DLH has day beds for the 5th person. My kids fought over this every night. ;) They loved it. The information I have says that GC does not have daybeds or rollaways, and only a sleeping bag is given(staying with the theming) for the 5th person. However, from the above post, this must not be accurate information. I would guess the day beds are limited though, so I dont think you could count on getting one. The room I toured didnt have one.

Good luck deciding. It is a hard choice. I don't think you could go wrong at either (or even Paradise Pier).

You can request it, but it's only a request and none of the theme park view rooms have the daybed. There are also some rooms with bunkbeds with a trundle, but again they aren't full sized. We were told the last option is that you can receive an air mattress with a sleeping bag. Our view was overlooking the parking lot and the Disneyland Hotel. We had a small balcony, but really didn't spend much time out there. We did enjoy sitting on the concierge balcony more.

Here's a pic I found:
Bunk bed room

I stayed in a standard view room #4101 at the Grand Californian, and we had two queens and a daybed - the room was pretty big. However, I didn't take any pics. I also stayed at the Disneyland Hotel with 2 queens and a daybed. I once had a client come from England, and he got 2 queens and a sleeping bag - he was not happy, and I wouldn't have been either.

Here's a pic of our bunkbed room at the GC

This is our room at the Disneyland hotel

On the other side of the wall is the desk w/internet hook-up, and past the door to the right is the bathroom

The balcony is really just a ledge

Thank you so so much for all of the help and the wonderful photo's :flower: This forum is great :)

Do all of the rooms at the DLH have day beds for the 5th person, or is this also just a request?

I too would not have been very happy with a sleeping bag instead of a daybed. I still prefer the look of the GC but if there is no way of guaranteeing adequate sleeping accommodation for five people then we will have to look elsewhere.

Thanks again!
