Anyone have any pictures from T-Rex? I checked out there website but didn't see anything.

I was thinking about trying this place when we are there in April for something different. Is it geared more towards kids? It will be just DH & I.

Also, for those that have tried it, how is the food?

We ate there the week it opened and we were pleasantly surprised. It is definitely not geared towards children. Have you ever been to the Rainforest Cafe? It has a very similar atmosphere. The signature drink at T-Rex is a Cotton Martini. It is served with a piece of cotton candy in it that melts into the drink. How COOL is that?

DBF ordered the Tribal Tacos- white fish wrapped in tortillas and topped with cabbage, cilantro, pico de gallo and t-rex sauce. He also ordered a side of shrimp and LOVED his meal.

I ordered the Fire-Roasted Rotisserie Chicken with mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples. I'm a very picky eater, but this chicken was delicious! The potatoes were excellent, but the apples tasted and smelled burnt. I'm not one to complain, but I casually mentioned it to the waitress.

My friend ordered the Paleozoic Chicken sandwich which was wrapped in fried dough. She also enjoyed her meal. It was so big that she was able to take some home.

Give it a try and enjoy!

I have pics but will have to come back and post them when I have more time. It is definetly fun for adults! My kids were scared, but DH and I thought it was awesome! The food was really good and the portions are large. The atmosphere is amazing. My only issue would be to request not to sit in the ice room. I thought it looked so cool from our seat but I had to walk in there to get to the restroom. The lighting is so funky, there is no way I could have sat in there and ate a whole meal. I would have had a terrible headache.

You will LOVE this place! Definetly go!

ok, here are some pics.

Thanks to everyone for posting all of the pictures! It looks really fun. I'll definately be adding this to our list.

I also have a question. Does TRex participate in the Disney Dining Plan?

No, it's owned by Landry's, the same as Rainforest Cafe'.

We dined there shortly after it opened and the food was quite good and portions are generous. DH had that dreaded Disney stomach bug so he simply had a bowl of French Onion Soup which he deemed "quite good". Younger DD had the pasta marinara off the kids menu, Older DD shared the boneyard buffet (think that's the name) with me. Half a rotisserie chicken and half a rack of ribs with mashed potatoes and baked beans. plenty of food to share (younger DD had some ribs too), the ribs were fall off the bone tender. BOth of them had the kids signature drink, the icee in the giant bone glass. (keep the cup). Around $5 a drink but they enjoyed it.

I ate there the night it opened. The food was awesome. Actually, I ate there twice in the two weeks I was in Disney. Go there if you can. You will love it.

As for the dining plan, I don't think they are part of the plan. You can always ask Disney though.

We had lunch there on Dec. 8 right after we arrived and checked in at SSR. It was an interesting experience. The food was quite good with large portions. I really enjoyed the Paleozoic Chicken sandwich with bacon, avocado, and lime mayo and DBF had the fish tacos. The restaurant is very similar to Rainforest Cafe but seems to be louder. After the novelty wore off the noise started to get to us (service was slow too). We decided that due to the noise level we won't be running right back.

You know, now that you mention it, I did find it kind of loud. But, not to the point where it bothered me or my group... I wonder why it is like that?

Ate there in November, the week after it opened and LOVED it! The food was a step above Rainforest and the setting was great. My 12 year old nephew can't wait to go back. Service was good and it is a little loud.
