Pictures in Disney Stores

I see alot of pictures taken inside Disney stores in Disneyland on this board. I know the World of Disney has a notice on the doors, saying no photography allowed inside store, and that a CM at the Emporium had said no pictures inside the store when I had inquired what the policy was. So, my question is, how does everyone get these pictures without being seen? Or do they actually allow pics to be taken, and I just got a CM in a bad mood?

The only sign regarding photos being taken in Park stores that I've seen is the same one you mentioned: the one at World of Disney. I've taken many a picture in Emporium, and a few in the holiday decorations store on Main street (the name escapes me right now), and have never been told not to photograph in the stores. It sounds to me as if you must have encountered a CM who was having a bad day? :confused3 It seems a shame that they'd make the interiors of the stores (especially the ones on Main Street that have been there forever; the one with the model railroad that runs around the perimeter of the wall comes to mind) so cute/interesting/detailed, and not want anyone to photograph them.

Wonder why they wouldn't want you to take pics? I always do never even thought it would be an issue? :confused3 what could possibly be the big deal? Will pictures expose their grand marketing scheme? :lmao: and heaven forbid that makes someone who sees the pictures want to go there! Lol I really don't get it. Maybe it's pictures of art? Like original art at a gallery? Hmmm :confused3 IDK

I really think that I just got a CM that was having a bad day and had had enough. I usually don't ask them, but had overheard someone at the World of Disney store saying that there were no pics allowed to be taken inside the park stores as well, so stupid me, I asked the next day.

I agree, and this goes for the World of Disney as well, you would think they would want people to take pictures inside the stores, good advertising, promotes the parks = more tourists!

Maybe they don't want people trying on hats and such and taking photos wearing or playing with the merchandise? You know, walk into a hat shop and take 20 silly photos in different hats :wizard: instead of buying one? Just a wild guess.

i remeber we had this discussion elsewhere awhile ago about WDW and a CM said it was because of the theft and reselling of items and creation of kncck off items online. I have taken many pics at the WoD in Florida without anyone saying anything to me, but guess that won't happen in Anaheim.

Oh my gosh... I have sooo many pictures inside the stores! Seriously, their theming is so cute, that's just mean to say no pics! (The giant snowglobe with the castle in it comes to mind) Maybe they don't want people taking pics of the art and trying to make their own version, haha? That makes sense. Seriously, that just seems silly.

When I was there in August I did not have a problem. Took as many as I want in WOD, a couple with CM's posing. Not sure what is up with "no photo's.

I've taken photos in WOD and the Main St stores. I never knew it was an issue, never saw any signs and never had anyone tell it wasn't allowed.
