Some of us thought it would be nice to see pictures of the areas that people live in. The world is a big place and this would be a nice way to see more of it.

I will start with a couple of mine. More to come.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's pictures. Here is a beach on the south coast of Massachusetts in the spring.

This is what my corner of the globe looked like on Sunday. :)

I do not live near a pretty beach--just the nice, polluted Mississippi River.

This is an older one from my neck of the woods. It is my DD in the bluebonnets, our state flower. It is a Texas tradition now (thanks to Lady Bird Johnson) to take pictures of your kids in the bluebonnets, usually while stopping on the side fo a dangerous highway!

I live 8 hours form the Gulf of Mexico, so no ocean shots here. BUt i do live near a theme park that opened in 1961. Six FLags over Texas is right in the middle of Dallas and Fort Worth. I don't have any skyline pictures from the tower because I am terrified of elevators so I have only been up there once. But you can see both Dallas and Fort Worth from up there.

Our weenie, though not exactly in the middle of the park...

These were taken during my first outing with my K100D in September, Pemaquid Point State Park on the coast of Maine...

I believe Photobucket automatically resizes the photos...they sure are pretty. I just got my K100D a couple days ago and sure like it.

Here are a couple recent ones from Portland, Oregon where I live.

Ok. I am going to stop posting now! I have not shot anything but kids for so long I just have nothing! I am really enjoying seeing all of your work. It is inspiring me to get off my behind and go shoot something around here.

I may have been uninspiring lately, but my Dad had some great shots. He was a much better photographer than me. I recently scanned in all of his slides and these are a few shots from when he was stationed in Kodiak, Alaska before I was born. I can't get more specific than that because he passed away in 2005. There are thousands of shots so I have not gone through and cleaned them up yet.

Nothing too exciting in my part of the world, I get a lot of open field and cloud pictures.

And of course....snow

This was something interesting we saw with the snow a couple of years ago. Some sort of strange phenomenon where the snow blew into rolls.
We drove around the neighborhood taking pictures.

I love these photos. It's so fun to see where everyone calls home - and they're all such great shots. Gdad - yours are just beautiful. And Michelle - those snow balls are really interesting. I grew up in Ohio. We had lots of snow but I never saw that happen.

Holy Cow! I'll have to look up that phenomena and see if it has a name. Interesting, thanks for posting those pictures. :thumbsup2
