Picture Packages at Character Meals

I've noticed that the picture packages at Chef Mickey's and Cinderella's Royal Table (and possibly others) are "one package per party". What if your party is a mixed group of people? The way the pictures are packaged, it is hard to split between multiple people. Why don't they just allow one package per person or one picture per person? Anybody else have problems with this?

At CRT this summer we had 5 in our group. And, we got two packages. At Chef Mickey's a few years ago there were 32 of us one night. They managed to get all of us in one picture with EVERYONE looking at the camera. The picture was the best one we had the whole trip. They were VERY nice about accommodating our needs for pictures for everyone. I think we ended up getting a couple 5X7's for a few of us and then a wallet size for everyone else. Can't remember what it cost, but we were so happy they did that for us.

I cannot comment on all character meals. But this past week we did CRT and PSB. At CRT there were 3 of us in the picture included with our meal. Once we got the picture, a photopass number was printed on the larger picture which we were able to add to our photopass CD. At PSB Belle did the greeting in her yellow gown. We purchased this picture and when we took the pics, I had my dd3 go alone, then all 3 kids. Our package included 1 large and 2 small with just dd and Belle, and 2 small with all 3 kids. Again, the phoopass number was included.

Did you notice that they gotten rid of the key chain and refrigerator magnets? I was kind of suprised.

We recently ate at Chef Mickey's and CRT with a party of nine (a "mixed group" you could say) and here was our experience.
At Chef Mickeys, we were given the option of taking 3 pics for 3 packages OR 1 pic of all of us for 1 package. We choose 1 pic of all of us together. They brought the large photo and one two-sided keychain (with 2 pics) to our table. We ended up ordering 2 more "packages" for a total of three-at an extra cost, of course.
At dinner at CRT, the number of people in your party determines how many packages you get and you choose who you want in what pic. As a party of nine, we were given 3 seperate complete packages. They ended up giving us a nice little surprise gift-a fourth photo package of just my DGD with Cinderella. Also received 3 lithographs, but that's another story!

I think it's absurd that everyone has to pay the extra amount to include the photo package, but then not everyone gets a package. Just my two cents... This is one reason why this upcoming trip will be our first without a visit to Cinderella's Castle in quite a few years.

Off hand, I can not think of the price at Chef Mickey's. The package at CRT is included in the price of the dinner-$24.99 for ages 3-9, $39.99 10 and up.

Agree!

I wish they'd just get this right one of these times.

I'm one of those people that complained to Disney because I didn't like how it was handled in the first place. They used to herd you up to take your picture, and then bring a photopackage - of photos of YOU, pre-printed - all ready to go in some huge package, and then after throwing them at you expecting you to buy them (what were they, $30?). Apparently they were supposed to explain that you had to pay for them when they dropped them off, but one of the times I went they just dumped the thing on the table and I had to ask the waitress if it was free or not.

I just found it in terrible taste that they printed up all kinds of pictures without even asking you once if you actually wanted it or not. I'm sure MANY people felt "guilted" into buying them. I wasn't, and as soon as I caught on I just refused the picture in the first place. I'm not really grumpy, LOL, but the way they did it just irked me the wrong way.

And now it sounds a bit more "fair" at Cindy's, but I think the same policy should occur property-wide. Or just do the SANE thing, which is take the picture, present a SAMPLE (and let people keep the sample for free, since you already printed it) and offer an assortment of packages for those that DO want them.

I think the two things that irritated me was that 1) they'd rather print up pictures and throw them away instead of asking you if you were interested (the whole thing just felt underhanded and even CM's seemed uncomfortable with it), and 2) the pictures themselves are LAME. The one at Breakfastausaurus sticks out; they stick you in front of an ugly sign that has nothing to do with anything Disney, and you can't even read it with people in front of it. If they were character pics and such that would be nice, but the entire concept is just very ill excuted.

I agree; it's absurd to expect everyone to pay for it in the first place, especially those prices at Cindy's.

Pictures at Chef Mickey's are $29 plus tax for one picture slightly smaller than an 8X10 and 4 4X6. Also free was a larger picture of all the characters there.

To answer the question about the cost at Cinderella's Castle: (from allearsnet.com)

"Once Upon a Time Breakfast"
8 to 11:15 a.m. Daily
Adults $31.99
Children 3-9 $21.99

As of February 1, 2006, Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast remains a Disney Princess-themed character meal. However, when you arrive at Cinderella Castle for your reservation, a photographer will be on hand to take pictures of your group in the lobby, before you are seated in the dining room.
A package with four 4x6 prints and one 6x8 print of your photo, as well as one 6x8 print of Cinderella Castle, in a Cinderella photo holder (valued at $29.95 plus tax) will be delivered to you during your meal,
which will be from a fixed-price, set menu. (One photo package per party of 1-4; two photo packages for parties of 5-8, etc.)

Additional photos may be purchased.

This is a Signature Dining Experience which takes two Table Service credits when using the Magic Your Way Dining Plan.

There is a similar note about the pictures on the lunch. Lunch price is $33.99 adults / $22.99 child

Dinner has the following information:
Adults: $39.99

Children 3-9: $24.99

As of February 1, 2006, Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner is a fixed-price, set meal, hosted by the Fairy Godmother, who will lead the observance of special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.

When you arrive at Cinderella Castle for your reservation, a photographer will be on hand to take pictures of your group in the lobby, before you are seated in the dining room. A package with four 4x6 prints and one 6x8 print of your photo, as well as one 6x8 print of Cinderella Castle, in a Cinderella photo holder (valued at $29.95 plus tax) will be delivered to you during your meal, which will be from a fixed-price, set menu. (One photo package per party of 1-4; two photo packages for parties of 5-8, etc.)

In addition, you will receive a special, unframed, unmatted lithograph (worth $50), given exclusively to diners at Cinderella's Royal Table Dinner.

As I said before, I think if they increased the price of everyone's meal to accommodate the cost of the picture, then everyone in your party should get a package. Right now whether you have 1 person or 4, you will still only get one package. That's just not right since everyone paid for it...
