I have heard all kinds of stories bad water , to much money to fix it, did not make enough money with the other 2 water parks. I am afraid the only thing we will ever see over there is bulldozers. But man I wish they would open it back up I loved that place.

That was my favorite of the water parks - kind of remote and like a fun old swimming hole. I'm not big on speed slides (Blizzard Beach) and wave pools are okay, but I always loved the family friendly, laid-back feeling of River Country.
Why don't they use it as Fort Wilderness pool? I mean Disney must be making enough money to be able to reopen it. I've never been to River Country but it looks very relaxing and sort of "old timey", a perfect addition to Fort Wilderness. What a shame.

While I agree that redoing RC would be great and enjoyed it as we did DI when it was open, I just don't see that happening. Think about it, they already have two pools and the campground is almost always full with what they have so what incentive would they have --- would you be willing to pay say $10/person/day it use it or say $50 a person for your length of stay? Remember they already have two water themed parks that far exceed what RC redone could ever hope to offer.
Does anyone have a picture of WL at night where theres supposed to be a "bear face" that appears from the right angle? I forgot to look for it when I was there...and would like to know what everyones talking about.
The bear face is the part of the resort just above the pool area. It is kind of neat. Like a warm, friendly bear looking over the lake. I don't have a pic personally, but might be able to find one.
