Picture of the Day - Chatter Thread

I took that same picture! I agree. Of course, now that we are home, it is almost 80!

Thanks for posting this picture!! This guy supervised our camp set-up in September but it was dusk so you can't see him very well in the picture I took. I believe we were in 801 (is that the site right beside the comfort station?)

An early morning visitor (perched across from site 802 on 2/17/07):

I'm pretty sure that 801 is the site directly in front of you as you enter the loop, so the comfort station is behind that site, not really next to it.
I love the 800 loop (but keep it quiet-don't want it to get too crowded).

Yep, that's where we were. When you entered the loop, our site was the first thing you saw. Next to our site was the sidewalk to the comfort station and of course, right behind it was the required 'short cut to the comfort station'. I'll try to add the picture of the critter that was in 802 one morning. It looked like a turkey. (I'll say this very quietly so no one can hear me; I totally agree with you about the 800 loop, esp that site right between the CS and the bus stop, the convenience of the 'everything' that you can get to from there is excellent. But I apologize, I already recommended it to my parents. I told them they'd be in heaven with their doggy in the more peaceful and secluded back of the loop).

Every time I see these pics I feel like hooking up and driving down but the sites are full. We get to go March 20-23 and I have a feeling we're gonna be at Tropical Palms on Sunday so we can get a head start to some funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

As I've always stayed with my parents (first as a kid when I didn't notice stuff like that and now as a grown up wehre they are already checked in), I've never seen them! Thanks for sharing. I'll be more observant next time!:magnify:

An interesting set up:

WOW!! I don't know what else to say! I'd have put the fridges more to the center of the canopy :confused3 ?? I'm sitting here imaging them unloading 2 refrigerators! WOW!! This busy-body would like to know if you're going to post pictures of the other 2 sites!!?:rotfl2:

We saw them too! They had some sort of set up with rows of chairs on one of the sites too. I'll ask my dad if he knows what was going on. He saw them set up...

I guess that I am the busy body for posting taking the photo and posting it in the first place! :rotfl: Sorry, but I don't have photos of the other sites. You can see some of the set up in the top right corner of the photo I posted. That site had a bunch of awnings and chairs set up in rows, with a table up front. Kind of looked like it was set up for a church service. The other site was set up with tables and chairs for eating. The thing I couldn't figure out is where all the people were. It didn't look like there was a group staying on the loop. Maybe they were staying in Creekside Meadows, and just using these spaces to meet and eat. Who knows?

No, you're being the journalist! (I'm not sure, but I think with my interest knowing more about these folks' business I just called you the Disboardonal Enquirer!) Your description is what I was looking for, I was curious if they had tents on the other 2 sites for 30 people. Maybe they were one of the larger groups (cheerleaders?) that stay at Pop or All-Stars and were using the campground kitchen set-up to feed everyone?

Oh, these really "hit the spot" for me today.... We're fast approaching sub-zero temps and I don't even wanna talk about the wind chill!!!!

Thanks to everyone for posting!

Off to plan my summer's camping adventures!
