Cancer has taken another one of "the good ones". An ardent supporter of our local soccer program from Youth Soccer to High School and a coach, mentor and friend to our Allie, Coach Ed passed away over the weekend after a very short battle with pancreatic cancer. As a former Assistant Coach with the Texas A&M Track and Field Program, we discovered today it truly is a "Small World". In the late 90's, he traveled to Colorado to recruit a young lady to the A&M track program. She was so impressed with his kindness and presentation she agreed to attend Texas A&M. She's now married to my Godson. He was a member of the local team that broadcast live local events. He was so persuasive he even managed to talk Allie, and an equally shy friend, into an interview during a football game halftime a couple of years ago. We'll be forever grateful for his support and love of our local youth. May he rest in peace.

I accidently chased 3 baby birds out of their nest today when I watered my hanging baskets ; they were jumping and running and doing a little flying....just having a grand old time. Then MOM appeared ...she was NOT happy to see her babies had "left the nest" when it was lunch time! She scolded them for 5 minutes!
