Seeking Constructive Criticism on composition for this image.

This is one of those favourite spots for togs to go shoot sunset in Melbourne.
Personally, I've never been happy with images from this location. For me, the angle of the old 'groyne' compared to where the sunsets - clashes - from a leading line perspective.

Shooting straight down the groyne for sunset doesn't work unless the clouds are in the right position (they rarely are).

Thoughts? Am I overthinking this location?
