** Picture of the Day 3 **

Life is normal over here.

Covid put a dent into our travel. Firstly, the Australian Government wouldn't let us leave. So we decided to put the travel funds into home improvements. The list was quite long as we had ignored the home for travel.
Now its the other way round.

I have been itching to get back to a Disney location. Tokyo is very high on the list.
It may be a while before I head back to the US.

But.....there is always the option of coming to visit me!!

Say hello to Ed for me. I miss chatting with you all.

I WILL; I'm so excited to get to visit with him again and will give him your message. Only 2 weeks before our lunch date and it will be a highlight of our trip!

I know you missed your travel but I'm sure you're enjoying your home improvements! We went through a remodel a couple years ago and, while it was rough living in the house without a kitchen/family room/dining room, we are LOVING the results...and we didn't get divorced! :rotfl2: Our "travel" for the next couple of years will be back/forth to Florida. Most of time, short trips to DW but mainly to visit our granddaughter. She's at Florida Tech in Melbourne for her Master's in Meteorology and absolutely LOVING "life in Florida"! She's only a few miles from the beach and visits often; in a newly built apartment complex; made the cut for the Club Soccer Team in the area and loving school. We DO miss her a lot but so happy she's "living her dream"! Our other granddaughter is also in college on a dance scholarship...at least for now. She's 2 hours away and terribly homesick!

I would LOVE to visit you but I don't think I could be on an airplane that long! :rotfl: We visited Allie (the oldest granddaughter) a couple years ago when she was in Liverpool for a spring semester (I think it was during the same time you and your family were in the London area!) and I STRUGGLED on that flight home! Ironically though, David and Amanda (our youngest daughter) are seriously thinking about a stop at Tokyo Disney on their way to Vietnam. Still not officially booked for that trip but David has always wanted to go back to Vietnam (he served there 1969-1971) and all Amanda needs is the "okay" to book it.

SO good to visit again; don't be a stranger here! :goodvibes:tink:

Finally got to take a drive and get some fall foliage pictures about an hour south of our house! The aspens and the birches are the only trees that pretty much change color around here.

WOW...THAT IS BEAUTIFUL! How lucky you are being able to enjoy THAT! Hope we'll see more!:lovestruc :tink:

This is the only thing on my mind this evening; getting a little concerned for DGD. University canceled classes for Tuesday and Wednesday BUT her METEOROLOGY Professor canceled ALL her classes this week so she's "officially" on an early fall break. When the meteorology professor tells her students to "get prepared" it kinda worries me. 😲:

I am worrying too about your trip and your family! Hopefully the storm will NOT be as bad as feared! :worship:

This was beautiful Lake Lure in NC just south of Asheville, NC in 2006. DH and I spent a wonderful long weekend that November exploring this area. It is now totally changed with the small town along the shore here totally wiped out by Hurricane Helene. 😥 We also later spent a week in 2015 exploring the Asheville area for possible retirement. We toured the Biltmore Mansion and even looked at homes to buy but decided it wasn't quite right for us.

Just stay longer. It isn't that bad if there is a longer stretch in between flights!

That's beautiful but the hurricane damage to this area just breaks my heart. 💔 My sister and niece were there for their spring vacation in 2022 and she's just sick that it's been destroyed. And now Tampa 💔...such trying times. :tink:

Thanks Kathy. She keeps saying it will not be to bad for her; hoping she HAS learned a little about these storms in her classes! :rotfl: She's been following meteorology blogs constantly and feels safe. As for our trip...we'll get there...maybe not Thursday evening but Friday is a "flexible day" for us so we can deal with a delay. Don't WANT to :goodvibes but can't change things. Just praying for everyone in the path of this historical hurricane. 🙏 DGD's "locked in" this beautiful apartment complex for the next few days. Supplies bought and she's not venturing out until she makes her way to Disney World....hopefully on Friday!

Our girl is now in the "Eye of the Storm" tomorrow evening; thank God she's on the EAST coast and the storm will pass over her on the way out to the Atlantic Ocean! 🙏 Bet that water won't be as calm and pretty as it is here! 😱
