Yikes, sleet in London? And your warning map. That's scary especially since they are saying that this is such a strong storm for early in the season! Be safe please!

Just waiting; we've prepared as best we can so now it's a wait and see IF and when the rain and wind starts. It's regained the "hurricane" title but only at a Cat. 1. Strange storm; forecasters are saying it will continue to gain strength AFTER it makes landfall which normally doesn't happen. We're under the red symbol just to the left of the "1"; expecting 70 mph winds and 5-8 inches of rain but as of now only a few light showers and a "nice breeze". Time will tell...and a nervous DD and family arrived in Switzerland today. (She's worried about their pets...they do NOT take "stormy weather" well! DH and I had to "divide and conquer"...he's pet sitting at their house while I'm home alone...with neighbors on "standby" if I need help!) Two hour total delay departing London so not much time to sightsee before dinner but must be beautiful....even son-in-law was taking pictures.

Oh Karolyn! It's still a scary storm and I agree that it is extremely unusual to strengthen after reaching land. I Googled and could find only a couple references to this ever happening before. Hopefully it will weaken and do only minor damage. I guess the only good thing about your not being on the big European trip is that you and David can help protect both homes and the animals! While the family will still worry they can hopefully keep in touch with you during the crisis.

I am trying out something right now that you may be interested in. It's a small portable fan that also can charge your phone and also be a flashlight. It's currently on sale on Amazon and isn't expensive. It's taking longer than my typical phone charger to get to 100% but it is more versatile and lighter than my older Anker battery phone charger that I carry around in the parks..

Look closely around on Amazon. I found it in pink (not my favorite color) but for $14.99 on Amazon yesterday but I can't find that price today. So far it seems very good as a fan and flashlight too.

I'm going to break the rules today with PictureS of the Day . First from my adventurous family...Sara and Allie on a CHOCOLATE TOUR in Geneva while Treavor and Katie go PARAGLIDING ! They literally JUMPED OFF THE TOP OF A MOUNTAIN! (No pictures of Treavor only Katie with her "instructor/guide"):



...and from us...our major causality from the storm. Our big, beautiful, healthy tree from the back yard laid over!

Report so far is Pirates is SO much better and they loved It's A Small World ... especially the different scenes. Thunder Mountain was also given a "thumbs up". There's another video of a ride I don't recognize that has Katie VERY unsure if she wants to do it or not! Can't wait to hear that story.
