Great shots everyone!

I'm really loving these Star Wars photos!

This is Houmas House Plantation in Burnside, La. It's one of the plantations located on the Mississippi River and is also known as the Sugar Palace. The original house was built in the 1700's and still stands behind the front mansion you see here (which was built in the 1800's).

If you ever come to the New Orleans area, the plantations are a must see!

Houmas House is also a bed and breakfast and houses a 5 star restaurant called Latil's Landing which is excellent.

Just like Oak Alley Plantation, Houmas House is lined with oak trees from the river to the house. Some are more than 500 years old and would make it easy for ships and traders could spot it from the Mississippi.

The red portion of the house is the original home built in the 1770's.

Sorry for the long post.

Harry,

thanks for sharing. I was in NO last year on a golf trip - I enjoyed the photography much more than the golf. :rotfl2: I wish we would have spent more time with the sights, like these mansions.
