Alaska’s famous Bore Tides usually occur in a lower arm of Cook Inlet called Turnagain Arm located southeast of Anchorage. Wavefronts (from 6 - 10 feet tall and moving 10 - 15 mph) are formed when the incoming high tide collides with the outgoing downstream flow in the narrow inlet. Adventurous souls venture out to the mudflats to ride the waves.
This was taken from a moving train - the Denali Express - traveling from Whittier to Denali National park.

Picked up a Tokina ATX Pro 80-200 f2.8. It's no Canon for sure but at 1/4 the price of a used Canon or new Tamron, I thought this was enough to tide me over until I could afford the Tamron I wanted.... until I saw the results this one produces. Wow. f2.8 is a bit soft at the edges but f4 is tack sharp if you ask me.

Just made it back from Disneyland Friday evening. My boys were planning in advance.They took this photo on Screamin and gave it to me this morning for Mother's Day. I love it!
