Pics of the Castle being painted tan Oct 22

and I was wondering if you all think that there will be scafolding and "Stuff" at Christmas time. My DH said the painting will be done by then. He said that he thinks they will have it all done before Christmas. What do you think?

It should be done in time for the taping of the Christmas parade. I doubt you will see scaffolding.

Thanks for sharing! Your shots are great!
I really like the new color. I think it makes it look more princessish. :thumbsup2

i would just like to point out that this may just be a base coat, a primer as you will, and another color perhaps the original will be painted on top of it. It will give it a richer look. and can be used to bring out detail.

I wish they would leave the castle alone. When I think of the castle I do not think of it being pink.
I know pink is princess-esque but for those of us who are not that into pink and frills, I wish they would just leave it the original color scheme! Not everybody that goes to the MK is princess crazed!

Hello neighbor! Would you mind walking a little bit further down the road between the CR and SM? (2.5 miles as the crow flies from the back of the MK) and take some pics of our house under construction.j/k :) Can't make it until next weekend. Builders are driving us nuts. Thanks for sharing the pictures. You take some great shots. pirate:

Are you close to CR535/Reams Road? If so, let me know and I'll to sneak a peak at your house. I am in the neighborhood.

Hello safetymom!

Was wondering what type of camera you took these photos with? They are so crisp and clear. Thanks in advance for your help!

Again great shots and thanks for always keeping us (more then 12 mile people) up dated.

I agree that it might just be a primer but if not I hope they only do the panels and leave all the trim the original color.

I'm one that likes to see it change from time to time . Sometimes they get it right and sometimes they bomb so bad it's comical.

As a member of the "Puh-lease leave the castle alone" club, I wish they would find something else to paint.

I'd sure like to join your club! I'm thinking this is just about the WORST idea WDW has ever had....LEAVE the CASTLE........ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am also in the "don't mess with the castle club." Is it me is is Disney desperate for "new material." First they mess up the classic movies by bringing it out to sequels (Cinderalla 2, Beauty & The Breast 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, etc.), and now they are messing up the parks as well. First they messed up some of the great rides (taking away Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and replacing with that horrible Pooh ride, etc.), they they created Disney's California (which is rubbish, if you've ever been...they basically took some of the good attractions from WDW and threw it into a carnival and Disney expect you to eat it up.), and now Disney cannot let each park have it's own individuality by making all the parks the same?! Can they leave our Cinderella's Castle alone?

I live right over the border in Polk County. It is west of the parks.
OOHH!! GREAT cheerleading that neck of the woods!!! VERY GOOD!! :cheer2:

I think if they do the castle the pink and grey it will look nice very cinderella castleish!!!! (is that a word??) :sunny:

I hope hat the painting is all done by the time I gret there... The castle kinda looks unfinished right now

Wait, they're painting the hat, too? Or is this not the hat that you are refering to?

I think sparmeland just made a typo and didn't mean hat.

I am secretly hoping that the tan is just primer and it will be a beautiful color when done. :wizard:

I too was wondering if the pink is just a primer. I'm going down at the end of October and will take a few pictures and post the progress. In one of the first pictures, it looks like the castle could use some paint, I saw some places with big chips of paint missing. Maybe it's from where they removed the gold from HCOE. So, I guess there isn't a chance that the crane won't be there in 9 days?
