Pics Galore!!! April 2007 trip report, first time onsite!!!

Now, I left you last on a Saturday night. Sher and I had tucked ourselves in nice and early. We had big plans to tour the Animal Kingdom. I foolishly had hoped to be there for opening. Boy, I was wrong. Girls take so long to get ready in the morning.

We skipped breakfast due to time and promised ourselves a bite to eat at the park. We jumped on a bus (BIG LINES this Sunday morning) and had to settle for standing room only.

The bus stopped once at Blizzard Beach …

…before pulling into the (what felt like a Medium Security Prison) bus parking area for Animal Kingdom. Resort to Park was about 21 minutes or so. Not too bad considering the dropping off at Blizzard Beach.

Our first order of business was a Latte and some fruit, which we snagged just inside the gates at a cart. We bolted for Expedition Everest and found a short wait. We grabbed Fastpasses, before jumping in the standby line. Return time on the Fastpasses was a little over an hour away so we were STOKED!

The themeing here is unreal. The props, buildings and effects are so authentic.

The wait was less than 20 minutes and the nerves started to act up. I WANTED TO RUN!!!!

But of course I didn’t. It is a ride after all. One great rollercoaster. We danced off of this mother. BEEMING!

Another shot of the beautiful queue at EE.

After EE we ran over to Dinosaur and found a 5 minute wait. (Oh ya, we passed the Nemo theater and noticed that the queue area was at least 14 miles long! We wondered aloud at the sheer scope of the stroller parking area! IT was a good 40 acres.)

Dinosaur was not one of Sher’s favourites. I have ridden it 3 or 4 times and can take it or leave it. I get a bit anxious on it, all the yelling, screaming, bouncing and what have you. Seems to be a case of “WAY TOO MUCH HAPPENING !!! CAN’T PROCESS!!”

After the buzzing in our ears died down we decided to head for Africa and the Safari! Sher’s most favourite attraction from the previous year. We were a bit bummed to see a long standby, so we grabbed a couple FP’s and headed to Tusker House for some breakfast. Sher got us some Danish and a beautiful cinnamon roll.

Can you dig it? I sure could.

After we ate it was a short wait for our fastpass at Kilimanjaro. We jumped in the FP line and before we knew it we were in our truck and heading out to see some wildlife!

Sorry, only took one pic. We found trying to take pictures on the ride actually detracted from the experience. Once we put the camera down it was much more exhilarating.

Gazelle?

The ride ended with the same stupid poachers getting caught (AGAIN!) and the rescue of the baby elephant. YAY.

After KS we were in the mood for more animals! So we jumped on the Pangani Forest trek. We saw a lot of great animals.

HIPPOS!

Hippos without skin!

Gorillas! These were Sher’s favourite. We must have taken at least 60 pictures of these guys.

Meer Cats? Supposedly they have been here for four years and are constantly on the watch for danger. Although nothing dangerous has ever come near. Talk about PARANOID!

We also got some great action from the monkeys near the entrance.

All in all, we had an incredible time. We both felt that Pangani was worth the price of admission alone. (Well, that and EE)

To be continued!!!!

Love the AK. Last year while my sister's and i were there; we just kind of got stuck by the gorillas. couldn't pull ourselves away. thank goodness for the EE fastpasses....started to burn a hole in the old pocket. Another great bit of trippie. :thumbsup2

Yet another fun installment!

Glad you rode Dinosaur! I screamed sooooo loud on that the last time I rode it! I dont think I could ever ride that alone! :scared1:

Looking forward to more!

I have been following your report and love the facial expressions you use. Very very funny. The lady behind you on this one tops any you have done. She looks soooo perplexed. :lmao: LIke she just cant figure out what happened to that hippo.

You won't even believe this, but I had forgotten what Dinosaur was because it had been so long since I had ridden it. My 4 yr old was tall enough & wanted to ride & there was no wait so we hopped on. I was afraid when we got of the police would be there to arrest me for child endagerment! She started screaming within the first second & was sobbing by the time we got off. Fortunately she got over it quickly, I was afraid she wouldn't ride another ride all week!

Great trip report! You seem like our kind of travellers, lotsa fun, lotsa riding, & lotsa yummy food & drink. Glad you had such a great time!

I am glad we rode it, I just don't think I will get on it in the future. Just a bit too much.

Great report so far - I am in...

I know exactly what you mean. We had to swap out batteries on the camera here. I think we watched them for a good 45 minutes.

I just noticed her last night when I posted that pic. LMAO!

You guys are a great looking couple!

Thanks!

We had so much fun! Dinosaur wasn't really a part of that fun but it wasn't unpleasant. Just kind of forgettable. Oh well. I miss the food so much. We were both on a diet before and after our trip, so while away we really splurged and did not hold back. I gained 8 lbs! Sher stayed even.

Great TR, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. You guys are so cute and DROOOOOL at the danish and baked goods. I look forward to more!!!!

I just lost 25 lbs (some of that was an 8lb baby!) and have 15 more to go. I had BETTER not gain 8 lbs! Yikes!

Another great installment!!!! Can't wait for more!!!

I am going in 9 days and had dole whips on my list of things to do/eat. Because after all, the food is very important. After reading your post I can not wait. I may get 2 or 3!!;) This is only the second TR I have read/reading and it is great. Love the pics. Waiting for more.pirate:

I love the pictures you took of the animals! Especially the hippo underwater. The cinnamon roll pics make me hungry! I am looking forward to more!:thumbsup2

I am so glad you are back, but need more. It's like somone who hasn't had water for a long time; once you stop drinking you can't stop. :lmao:

Very nice to see you picked up the report again!! I am really enjoying it.
So Soupy, are ya gonna marry that girl?! You guys are just a stunning couple!

:bride: :groom:

More great photos! I too noticed the lady behind you at the hippo display. Maybe she lost a hippo?
