Here is a review I wrote for another website. I don't have the pics on this computer and I can't link them, but I took a pic of the bag the picnic comes in, and the unpacked food...
Although the brochure states that the smallest meal is for three, the Cast Member when we ordered told us there is a picnic for two available. My mother was joining us that Saturday, so we chose the Tier 1 picnic for three. We placed our order at the Kusafari Coffee Shop and Bakery (near Tusker House) in Africa. Although the brochure stays that payment is due upon pick-up, we were told payment was due upon ordering, and to bring back our receipt to pick-up. I had left everyone in the shop (along w/ my diaper bag) to run over and order, so I was a little perturbed to have to go find them, get my credit card, and stand in line all over again. It was almost noon when we ordered, and we were given a pick-up time of 2:15.
After placing the order, we ran over to Conservation Station, then did a Safari. By that time it was about 1:45 and we were hungry! So I went back to the Coffee Shop to see if we could pick up our picnic early, and they said it was no problem. We found a table near the Safari (where they have the Harambe School set up) and had our lunch!
As you can see, although all the marketing photos show an "Every Tree Has Character" bag, this is the bag your lunch comes in. There is nothing printed on the other side.
As you can see from this pic, the bottled water is a tiny bottle (8 oz). This is my one complaint over the meal!
My mom and DH got the turkey focaccia, and I got the portobello and veggie wrap. Both of these were extremely good, but I think the turkey will be my choice from now on. For our side, we chose the potato wedges. They were warm and well-seasoned with rosemary and other herbs. Very soft, very good. For our desserts, we chose one rice crispy treat, one cookie, and one brownie. The rice crispy was nothing special (you can see it in the background behind the water), but the cookie was very good, and the brownie was chocolate heaven! I'm sort of holding the bag open but it just looks like a chocolate blob in the picture. I don't eat nuts, so I was happy it is nut-free. Get one--trust me! Also included in the bag are plates, plasticware, napkins, and a map of the park showing you were other picnic areas are.
As I said, my only complaint about the meal was the tiny waters. You will probably want to have other drinks on hand! They also need to reprint the brochure to state that you must pre-pay. We enjoyed it so much that we did it again a few days later when I came with my friend and her kids. That day DH and I got the turkey focaccia and my friend got the portobello wrap, we got the potato wedges again, and all three of us got brownies!
