OK, the current version is very different from the original.
It was gone for awhile, then came back as seasonal.
Does anyone have any recent pictures and detailed info on current offerings, please?
What are the sandwich choices?
What are the dessert choices?
Can you get anything other than water to drink?
Is there only chips, or can you get pasta salad or potato salad?
Any reports from the last 3 months?

easywdw.com did a walk-about at AK about a week ago. If it's not still on his home page, scroll down until you see "previous posts" and go there. He has some pictures of the sandwiches, but I didn't see much for the desserts.

Hi Sharon.
Yes, I read that on easywdw, and that prompted the questions.
From the picture, you can't tell anything.
Someone posted a picture on another thread showing sandwiches, and a rice krispy treat, and some other dessert. Still no info on what the sandwiches are, and dessert choices other that a rice krispy treat, chip choices, and water substitutions.

Water is the only offered beverage. When I was in there last week I didn't see anything but plain potato chips (no other flavors) but didn't ask (I wasn't in there to order the picnic). Usually in places where the type of potato chips pictured in the other thread are offered, they might have barbecue flavor, but those two flavors are it. I dont' recall seeing barbecue but that doesn't mean they didn't have them.

There are no more hot or cold sides, so you can't get a salad. Chips are the only side item.

This page describes the sandwiches, but no photos, and no description of the desserts.

This all goes along with what I saw a couple months ago-

I was just there yesterday.
It was the end of the day and i noticed some leftover sandwiches sitting there in the cooler to choose from.
Just kinda sliced hunks of like ciabatta bread sandwiches.
Looked ok, but there are better options in the park. It really just looked like grab and go from a gas station.

1) WDW changed the menu, as it was too costly.
2) Now, it is just basics - a picnic lunch.
3) It is not meant to be a buffet with many options.
. . . sandwich
. . . chips
. . . simple dessert
. . . water
4) I would not look for the original menu to return.
5) A QS meal allotment is not much to afford big meals.

When I read this, I immediately thought of Sparky Griswold in "Vacation" saying "I'm so hungry I could eat a sandwich from a gas station." Hopefully, they're better than that.
