Picnic @ Animal Kingdom

Is it true that the Picnic @ Animal Kingdom can be put on the DDP? If so is it both tiers?

Either tier may be gotten, using 1 CS credit per "person" of the package (minimum 3).

We got the ham in tier 2 and thought it was a great deal. The sides were good size portions and plenty of food for my entire family (me, dh, dd5 and dd2.5) and we just got the meal for 3 because dd2.5 was not on DDP. It is on our list for the next trip.

So you were able to order it even when you only had 2 adults listed on your KTTW card? Earlier it was posted that you needed 3 adult credits to get the meal.

Our CS credits were not broken down in Adult or childrens and I think that is because there are a few CS places that don't have a seperate childrens menu. It all worked out though because one day DH got a hotdog for lunch at the golf course so I used his lunch credit and bought DD2 her own kids meal. I dont know how they would expect it to work any different? They are already excluding couples w/out children. If I had to give up another meal I am not sure we would do it.

We did this on 6/11, we picked up our food and headed to Rafiki's Conservation Station for our picnic on the train. We found a nice, shaded table to eat at. This was GREAT! There is a little check-in station right when you get into AK to order your food and you pick it up next to Tusker House. We used the counter service meal plan credits and ordered the chicken for 4...it wa GREAT, juicy and seasoned with rosemary. The sides we picked were roasted potatoes (yum), macaroni and cheese for the kids and the fruit salad. The pieces of chicken were plump and juicy...boy, did people stare at us while we were having our picnic. Several castmembers walked up to ask u about it, I guess since it is so new. The bag is green and says "Picnic in the Park" and is packed with all you need: plates, utensils, napkins, salt/pepper and ice-cold water bottles. We chose an orange, apple, brownie & rice krispy for the desserts. I have to say, my husband is a big eater and there was plenty...there were actually 10 pieces of chicken and I think it should have been 8 according to the menu, but that was nice. It was hot, packed well. We really enjoyed it. I'd do it again....this was one of the best meals we had all week and it is a good deal and fun!!!
