I'll be the first to admit to being a picky eater lol I'm not really fond on fancy meals but the other person in my party really loves the experience of dressing up and going to a nice restaurant and really wants to go. Is it possible me for just to have something like pasta and not eat off the fancy menu? Or is that generally embarrassing and/or frowned upon? I'm nervous about speeding $25 just to hate the food and would never want to be rude and not eat what was put in front of me.

You certainly may order just pasta. Here's the "Pasta" section of the Palo menu from our recent Dream cruise:

Also, don't forget about the chocolate soufflé. It must be ordered at the beginning of dinner for them to have time to make it.

Thank you, both! I already know what I'm eating next September lol! And thanks for the advice about the soufflé!

In 7 trips to Palo I have never once had them ask me about the soufflé at the beginning of the meal. We order it for dessert at the end and it shows up as promptly as everything else does the entire meal.

Well, our experience (more limited than yours), both times we ate there we were asked at the beginning of the meal (when we were ordering our meal) if we would be ordering the soufflé.

If you're at a fancy restaurant, IMO it's ruder to eat something you don't like rather than give them a chance to help you. Actually I feel the same way if you're at home, someone else's home, or anywhere. I would NEVER want something to eat something I made for them when they disliked it. If I found out later I would actually BE hurt about them not trusting me with the info. But then I totally understand that everyone's tastebuds are different.

Palo wants you to be happy. Give them every chance to let them make you happy.

I've had the same experience every time I've eaten at Palo. They ask us at the time we order our meal if we're going to order the soufflé.

maybe I just look like I'll definitely want the soufflé ;)

You'll likely find that the menu will have changed by next September.

Do you know something I don't? There haven't been any significant changes in the last couple of years that I know of, except no pizzas at dinner.

I know very little - just ask my wife. ;)

I've always seen changes in the menu at Palo. Not necessarily significant ones though. It seems that the chef's are constantly adjusting things.

I am a picky eater. My daughter says I don't like flavor :). I have not had a problem at Palo, they are very accommodating and everything is made fresh, so easily adjusted if necessary. We have been asked about the soufflé before the meal and sometimes not -- but in that case the server ordered it anyway.

I'm a very picky eater. It's easier to take a 4 year old out to eat than me. I love palo (although their chicken Parm which everyone raves about underwhelms me).

Totally agree, after 13 dinners at Palo & we have always been asked in advance about ordering the chocolate soufflé. We usually order it, when we receive our appetizers, at the same time we order our entrees. :)
