Although we have made many trips to the world and have wrote several picky diner reviews this year would be very different
. I was diagnosed with a food allergy last year that has turned the way I eat upside down. I have what is called fructose intollerence. Consuming anything with sugar, fructose or anything breaking down to these levels causes extreme gastro problems and chest pains the works (last reference to this in a food review I promise)!
Anyways before the trip I read a review that helped me prepare for my first trip with a food allergy to the world so hopefully I can help others
We are also notoriously picky eaters so this makes things interesting
.
Our first night we grabbed quick service from Roaring Forks (quick service at the Wilderness Lodge). I let the CM know that I had a food allergy and questioned the ingredients in the evenings special Chicken Alfredo (a favorite of mine). The CM made a call and informed me it was safe to eat! It came in a small paper tin and although it was a bit dry (not enough sauce) it was a comforting first meal. DS (turned 16 during the trip) and my mom shared a cheese flatbread and both got icecream (return favorites for both).

After a successful evening I was looking forward to another great quick service meal and then on with the day . Well the only option with my food allergy at the RF was the runny scrambled eggs (yuck)! I was soooo disappointed to find that WDW uses sugar as ingredient in all bread products, pizza crusts, biscuits, and pancakes (really missed my Jiffy mix)! I soooo wanted Mickey waffles (sniff sniff). DS went with a favorite from a previous trip Egg and bacon croissant (this would be a return favorite) and mom went with the yogurt and berry parfait (lets just say this was the one and only time she went with this choice .)
Rating - Not even up to getting a mouse from my side but DS enjoyed his croissant so

Next up our first sit down dinner Whispering Canyon Café
