My DH is such a picky eater! Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to deal with what he'll eat every night! I can't image that he'll want to eat grilled chicken for 7 nights straight. He likes steak too, but usually only once a week. I did see a few things on the menu that he MIGHT try, but they come with different sauces or vegetables. Are they willing to work with a picky hubby? Whenever we go out he usually orders Chicken Parm and french fries. That's about as wild as he'll go. He doesn't each veggies either! Now me, I can't wait to sample everything. Even my DS and DD are more adventurous! This may sound silly, but can he order from the kids menu (LOL!)? Or ask for something special? I've read a lot of posts about great the servers are at picky kids, but can they help me with my picky DH!!

Yes, he can order from the kids menu. They will try to accomodate him in any way they can. I love all food but do not generally like sauces, so I always have my sauce on the side and they were fine with it. There will be something pretty plain everynight, don't worry. And if he is super duper picky, he can always get something at the pool (the chicken strips are awesome) or at the buffet, and just nibble at dinner.

No worries, DCL is very, very used to taking care of its guests' food preferences.

On our last cruise (May '02) they had a selection of "plain" food on each menu. I"m pretty sure it was like grilled chicken, steak or fish. Oh, they also had some lighter fare. DD )adult) can be pretty picky and is by no stretch adventerous; but she found something each night.

I'm a very picky eater too. I'm so glad I am not alone.

I'm a meat and potato's chick... not a lot of sauces, not very adventurous, etc... and I was looking at the menu's also wondering what I was going to eat at dinner besides chicken fingers, Pizza etc. At least I know I won't be hungry or laughed at!

thanks, Jeanny :D

Unfortunately I am not a picky eater. I look at the menus and there are too many things that I would like to try.
I am not too fond of a lot of sauces though and usually get them on the side just in case. The good thing is that if you don't like something, you can always order something else.

On our last cruise may 01, we printed out the menus and my sister used to pick out our lunch site by the deserts they had.

Can't wait for Palo's choco souffle. We didn't try the chicken fingers until our last day, and wish we had had them earlier. Some of the best I've ever had.

Thanks everybody for you input! It is well appreciated!

GenieDana, thanks for the link...I found it earlier today and that's what made me pose the question. I knew as soon as I saw them that he'd have a tough time finding something!!:p

Thanks again!!!!

I am quite fussy and didn't have any problem finding a meat that I liked, but I didn't necessarily like what accompanied it so I just asked our server for a baked potato and the same vegetables they were serving on the lighter fare menu (corn or string beans, etc.). Our server was very accommodating.

We sat with a tablemate that was a picky eater but had no problem on the cruise. He let the waiter know that he liked plain steak or chicken every night with french fries and that is what he got. Not a problem. Heck, if they can keep all of those picky kids hungry, I am sure one or two picky adults is a breeze>

On my last cruise, one of my friends had Sciliaks's (sp?) Disease which is an allergy to gluten. She couldn't eat anything that has wheat flour in it which is just about everything. DCL was wonderful. once they learned what her limitations were, they did everything, and I mean everything they could to cater to her needs. They gave her a menu for the upcoming meals and let her pick what she wanted so that they could prepare it for her without gluten. They even made special gluten-free dinner rolls and chocolate chip cookies.
So, what I'm trying to say is that if your husband wants something special, all he has to do is let them know. Your kids can order off the regular menu and your husband can order off the kid's menu. Whatever makes everyone happy.

I just got off my cruise on the 15th, and I am a very picky eater. My server had no problem adjusting whatever so it didn't have anything in it I didn't like (ie onions, peppers). He adjusted what was the entree and allowed me to pick from something els.
