Picky Eater

My daughter used to only eat chicken fingers. She finally branched out on the cruise line when she saw all the other kids eating in the kids club. I am not sure what it was but we were amazed that is where she finally decided to try something new.

My advice would be to bring the PB that your child likes and just make your own sandwiches to make sure your meals are enjoyable.

And ziploc bags - it will make transporting the sandwich to dinner or to lunch by the pool (or where ever) so much easier. Butter knives are readily available from both the buffet or from room service.

I am old. I am a mom. I say let him go hungry until he eats....

Some children have problems with food textures due to a sensory processing disorder.

You can believe that this is not a "real" medical issue, until you have a child that has this and is physically not on the growth chart at all and needs occupational therapy to save his/her life.

There are moms posting in this thread with problems like these, and it's not a matter of starving the child. Your "advice" likely just makes them feel bad.

I am sorry to make her feel bad about being a mom. I have a 35 year old son with cerebral palsy. Believe me, I've been through it all! Her child will get through the cruise just fine. I am sure she's dealt with him eating in public before. It's ok, just relax and have fun. Take a jar of his favorite peanut butter from home if necessary. Things have a way of working themselves out.
