Morning all!
We are booking our trip this week. We are planning to stay in a moderate resort, however our oldest child is a severly picky eater. We wanted to stay at CBR and CSR but neither looked like the offered pancakes in the moring. Also CBR for dinner only serves grilled chicken strips? Am I seeing this right?

Basically, Yes

He basically will eat cinnamon rolls or pancakes for breakfast and pepperoni pizza or chicken strips for dinner. Any suggestions???

Have you considered POR? We stayed there several years ago and I loved the food court:lovestruc

Is your resort decision really going to be dependent upon pancakes and chicken strips?

Terri,
I am highly considering the POR. The food court looks like it would accomodate him. The only thing I didn't care for was the way the alligator bayou rooms were themed. I am wondering if the magnolia rooms are the same price?
MomtoBrandon&Jacob, haha that made me giggle. It's sad I know but yes it's true :-) It would be a miserable trip if we had to fight him over every meal.

Thanks,
Casey

Would he eat Mickey shaped waffles? They have them at CBR. I don't know what the kids meal chicken strips were but when I had chicken strips they were not grilled...maybe it changed since last December?

CBR has chicken nuggets and pizza on their menu. I don't know where you get that they only have grilled chicken strips. http://allears.net/menu/menu_opr.htm

We have stayed at CBR 4 times and never had a problem with DS finding something to eat and he too is a picky eater.

I'm an adult picky eater and was able to find something I liked in the POR food court everyday. They have breaded chicken strips too :thumbsup2

The Magnolia Bend and AB rooms are priced the same - prices vary depending on the booking category but they don't vary from the one side to the other. You would have to make your reservation and request the Magnolia bend rooms, which are not guaranteed. Only way you can guarantee a magnolia bend room is to book a Royal themed room, which is slightly more money. Those rooms are only in magnolia bend. Similiarly, avoid booking a preferred room as those rooms are only in AB.

Have you seen the newly refurbished rooms at AB? Photos are on portorleans.org and in the POR FAQ thread. They are really nice now and there have been some pretty significant changes in decor and theme. I never cared for the AB decor inside the rooms either but with the newly refurbished rooms, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there anymore.

Consider whether you will truly eat at the resort enough to make that a major issue. We are staying at CSR next month and are not even sure we will eat a meal there. If you need cinnamon rolls for breakfast, maybe bring a pack with you or check the food self service area. A box of frozen pancakes can be kept in your freg and heated in the food court microwave too. You can also purchase a kids meal before you leave a park and bring it back to the resort and just stick in the mirco if needed.

I know the reality of picky eaters, I really do but I would not pick my resort based on a couple of foods.

Thank you for all of your advice and help! I never even thought about not necessarily eating at our own resort. This is our first time to go and I'm trying to figure everything out. :)
