Pickup Time Town Car to MCO

We have a 9:30 p.m. flight out of MCO on Monday. TownCar service says we need a pick up at 7:30 from a Universal hotel. Will this give us enough time to check bags and get through security?

ETA: I usually get a hands on body screening at the Airport Security Screening at the checkpoint.

It should. As you have to check bags at the airport, I would probably request they pick you up another 30 minutes ahead of time, just to be safe. Not to mention not knowing if you will whiz though security or have to stand in line for 40 minutes.

Towncar companies like to schedule pickups 2 hrs prior to departure.....but that's not enough time for me. I always tell them I want to leave 2.5 hrs prior. It's 30 mins to the airport, maybe a bit less. Then checking bags can take some time. Then security. I don't like getting to the gate with less than an hour to go before boarding.

Looking at a couple of web sites, security screening times of 7 to 20 minutes are reported for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on most weekdays Trying to find out if other people's experiences bear that out.

My suggestion? Try not to overthink it. Security could, and does, change in the blink of an eye. I've gotten into that line and figured it would take less than 10 mins. Nope, something happened ahead of me and it ended up taking more than 15 mins. The only time I have ever spent less than 15 mins in the security line at MCO was when I was able to do the precheck line. And even that took me 15 mins one time due to ignorance ahead of me.

Tiffany towncars stated 2 hrs also but I argued with them and they did come at 2.5 hrs.

It takes 30 -35 minutes to get to the airport. then check your bag get through security. I would say no less than 2hrs 45 minutes pick up time.

I used FL Tours on Monday. I told them 2 1/2 hours before my flight, and they called me 30 minutes before that and said they were at the resort gate, ready to pick me up. And 3 hours wasn't that bad. Even though we cleared security in record time (which was awesome and will probably never happen again) we only sat at the gate for a little over an hour before boarding.
