Pickle part III

I like a room theme if it matches the resort theme too. I just hope it is not an over the top movie theme if they do the entire resort in the theme.:thumbsup2

FQ is so small, it seems they would refurb the entire resort in the same theme, but POR is larger and definitely some bldgs guest don't want to be in...but with a new theme, might work as it did for CBR Pirate rooms.

Let me try to find the link for you, Heather. How are you guys doing now? what a horrible storm - glad you are at least safe, if not as sound of mind quite yet!;)

Above is a link to possible new theme FQ and POR rooms - don't see how all the rooms could be these themes at either resort, so maybe certain bldgs.:goodvibes

:lmao::lmao::lmao: YET???? Christine this is me we are talking about. The day I am of sound mind is the day pigs fly.

Thanks for the link...off to check it out!:thumbsup2

You go back to the Dr. Tomorrow/today, right??? and prayers it goes well.

Sorry, ladies. I haven't been DISing for awhile. Too much crap going on here. :sad2:

Christine, I'm glad your prognosis is awesome and I am sure you are thrilled with the results and are feeling such a relief. :)

Yes, I have seen the pictures of the proposed refurbs and I have to agree with Janet on this one! I think they look cool and children will think they've died and gone to heaven. It's almost like living a dream! It's the grounds of the hotel and beautiful scenery that are important to me. I just love to soak it all in and let my mind roam free. :cloud9: The decor of the rooms don't matter, as to me, they are just a place to sleep and shower. I know that if I were a child and had the opportunity to stay in one of those princess rooms or pirate ones, etc., I would be out of my mind with excitement and awe.

Janet and Heather, I hear you on the stress, sleepless nights, headaches and other aches and pains. That's practically and everyday occurrence here. I hope things start to look up soon. Drinking is good. Not that I would know this, of course. :rolleyes1

Thanks, Tracy. So sorry you are going through a difficult time.

Posted my visit with the Dr on FB, but since my math was wrong will post it here as well. I did not say as much there either....This Dr was my surgeon, but it was the first time we met outside of my surgery day. I REALLY like her and hope to see her more than anyone else in the future.

So...she removed 9 (yup nine) lymph nodes, all biopsies came back clear. She did an illustration of how far the cancer had gone through the uterine wall..wow - I am SO BLESSED!!!! It went VERY close to the next wall...and invaded a bit of the space between the uterine wall and lymph nodes...but the wash came back clear. The recommendation is 3 to 5 radiation treatments (these are not too comfy as a radiation tampon is inserted for 15 to 20 mins - but it's just us pickles or I'd never mention that). Women with this diagnosis have a 5 to 10 percent chance that the cancer could return, but with radiation that is cut in half to 3 to 5 percent...or better yet...95 to 97 per cent of it NOT returning. ::yes::

Very good news, but it is all a bit surreal to me...and the radiation is a bit scary...but it's not much and the one person i met who had it done said she had no side effects other than being tired . She still worked full time - hers was 6 treatments and her cancer was 2b..mine was lesser grade of 1c.

Rest well, pickle friends! :goodvibes

Christine, this is really GREAT news and I couldn't be happier for you. You will do fine with the radiation. I went through it for four months, three days a week, when I had my breast cancer. My only side effect was that I was VERY tired...but it was four months, so you'll be absolutely fine. You can always nap when your sweetie girl naps. :)

To the rest of my pickles, sorry I've not been here much. Between trying to do my TR and my trying to update the CSR thread and do my office work, I can't keep up with everything. I hope all of you are doing well.

I am sad.:sad1: I've heard/read that everyone just loves Soarin' at Disney. I get motion sickness badly. I can't read when in the car and I can't watch the kids play video games on the tv. Anything with movement in front of me or in my peripheral vision, makes me so nauseous. I just youtubed a video of Soarin' and just about hurled after 10 seconds of watching it. I am so sick to my stomach right now and my head is woozy. I am a freak.

Oh, and? I've shared this with you just because.

Have a magical :wizard: day!

Tracy, you nut!!! I could absolutely NEVER watch a you tube video of Soarin'!! N.E.V.E.R

I had horrible motion sickness long before I had MS and the MS makes it that much worse..on top of that, I am beyond terrified of heights..but I can do Soarin' and I know many who have serious motion sickness who can as well. There is a secret to it though...you must keep eyes closed going up and only open your eyes a little at time, and ONLY look straight ahead.....close eyes whenever it begins to really soar and going back down. Even though I keep my eyes shut a lot, I still enjoy it and have never gotten even the tinniest bit ill feeling. LOVE Soarin' in my own weird way. :thumbsup2

Kathy, than you SO MUCH! I am sure you know how much it means and eases the fear to hear from another who has been through something similar. BIG .

Tracy, we rode this with two cute little girls and their mom (DIS friends) and another woman and her husband and she was scared to death becasue she too has motion sickness. She ended up LOVING the ride. When she thought it might bother her, she just closed her eyes and then would open them and peak and she was fine. You could always try it her way.

Yep, that's exactly what those with motion sickness do. I probably keep mine closed more than the average guest, but it works out great and I get to enjoy Soarin'. :goodvibes

I am not able to do it. I've tried all of those tricks. Looking straight on is the worst! Can't do it. When Body Wars was still at Epcot, same on-screen type video, I almost threw up on the ride and sat outside for an hour trying to shake the dizziness and nausea. We had only been in the park for two hours and I had to get my BIL to drive me back to our hotel in Oldtown. OMG, it was horrible. Wasted ticket too. :(

I'm glad you love it and are among those who can do it. Sadly, I'm not one of them. :sad2:

I love me some thrill rides though. Woot!

See and those thrill rides -- Rock & Roll Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest...I can't do those anymore. I get sick and a really bad headache. And don't even dare try to get me near Mission: Space.:sick::sick:

Body Wars - they had to get a wheelchair and help me out - I was sick for a couple of days, just like after TOT. Thank goodness I can do Soarin' in my weird way, cuz cannot do a single thrill attraction (POTC is my thrill attraction and I'm not kidding). :teeth:

Tracy, at least you can do lots of other attractions! ::yes::

Okay, let me clarify... LOL. I wouldn't go on Rock & Roll coaster or Mission Space. EVER! I haven't been on Expedition Everest - it's been broken down when we've been at AK. I assume that it's similar to Thunder Mountain, except with a bit more thrill to it? I could very well chicken out at the last minute on it. :rotfl:

Yes, EE is like Thunder...only a LOT more thrill (including going backwards). What do you consider a "thrill ride" then?

Geeze, I never thought to get a wheelchair to help me out. I literally stumbled out of there like a drunkard and had to lie down on the bench. Yeah, I can do a lot of thrill rides (mild to the daredevils out there!) but there are still some that I won't go near with a ten foot pole! *bawk* *bawk*

My definition of thrill is not that of die hard thrill seekers, believe me. A "thrill ride" to me is BTM, Space Mountain, or Test Track. See, not that thrilling huh? So, EE goes backwards?!! Nope, wouldn't go on that ride then. I need to see where I'm going.

Two CM's brought a wheelchair to me, no questions asked. You can guess I was not a pretty sight, but did not throw-up, thank goodness. I could not finish the show - they came in to get me. Yup, it was bad.

Hi Pickles!!!

Hope everyone is having a great week! This past weekend was beautiful ... went to a local farm, where they have fallfest days. It was mobbed!! Sam and a friend did the corn maze (this is not easy, it took them 50 mins! Made sure they had their cell phones with them); had some cider donuts, painted pumpkins, etc.

Some exciting news for us ... Howard and I are going to the Yankees home game 1 on Monday! Only hope the weather is good, and of course, we win :) I always feel the yankees owe it to us for traveling so far :lmao:

Have fun at the game, Janet. I normally pull for "any team" going against the Yankees, but since I don't like the Phillies or the Giants (I was really hoping the Braves would do it for Bobby Cox), I'm going with the Yankees this year as they have one of my all-time favorites, Kerry Wood.
