Happy Birthday, Tracy the Pickle Queen!!!!
I'm saving nickels and dimes too....when any of those come my way!! Don't think I'd recognize a quarter..but still have about $17 and change in Canuck money!!

:grouphug: Heather saw your pm......:grouphug: Positive thoughts and loads of ISPD!!! (industrial strength pixie dust :teeth: )

(why oh why won't the DIS let me use front color when I use advanced??? all I get is white!! :confused3 Been going on for 2 yrs now...so weird...quick reply is fine).
Thanks!
I'm saving $$$ for Disney too....evry time I find change in a pocket when doing laundry, I call it a "tip" and it goes in the jar.
Leave out the garlic powder and switch the soup to something other than mushroom and I will come for dinner AND do the dishes. Now is that a deal you can't resist????? :cool1:
You come join me for Dinner AND do the dishes, I'll make you anything you want!:cool1:
We just finished supper. Nobody died. Yet. And, I'm boycotting the dishes.
Good for you! Hope Mark did them for you. He has to tonight too, cause it's your BIRTHDAY!!!
That's okay...the latest bedbug report has me not wanting to stay at any hotel anywhere or travel by plane, train or bus, until the U.S. gets a handle on the bedbug situation.
Nearly everyday local and national news have a new bedbug report. It is an epidemic found in all 50 states. Two worst places in the US: NYC and the state of Ohio...yep, Ohio - weird.
I'm telling ya though - Disney must be coming in pretty high on that list. There have been so many reports on the DIS and we are a but a teeny percentage of Disney guests.
I would not be able to handle it calmly - nope, would not be the laid back guests reporting bedbugs. :sad2:
Disney has such a serious problem they have their own bedbug dog! I'd bet they have more than one.
I worry about Michael bringing the things home - he goes on golf weekends with his buddies and do you think they would ever check for bedbugs???
of course, now the darn things are invading offices, stores, movie theatres...ugh...
Someone PLEASE find a new safe pesticide to kill these bugs!!
End of rant.:thumbsup2

I am so creeped out by that. Seems they are EVERYWHERE.
Ack!!! Not.reading.that. It just gives me the heebiejeebies. Sadly, we can't live in bubbles. I checked our room at CBR before we set foot in it and never gave it a second thought afterwards. The snakes however.... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I HATE SNAKES!!!
Would LOVE to live in Florida, except for that. Brian keeps telling me that we have snakes in PA too, but I've never seen one slithering across my driveway.:scared1:

Uh, Heather? There are 18 non venemous snakes and three venemous ones in PA - copperhead, timber rattlesnake, and Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake

OH EM GEE !!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

OMG, I hate snakes too!!! Absolutely terrified - exactly the same as you, Tracy, that would be me.

After reading all the posts about snakes in Disney (even though we have not seen one in 27 yrs of visits) I will now be watching everywhere...one woman saw one fall from a tree at POP!!!! Loads have been seen at CBR & POR....oh, and WL of course...no doubt guests see the things at the campground. Makes me nervous just thinking about it.

Tracy, if we ever make it to Disney together we will be a sorry sight walking along a path!!    I can assure you of one thing - we will NOT accept a first floor room at any resort!!! No how, no way! :sad2:

I have never seen one there either, thank goodness. My Aunt say she has seen quite a few on the lamp posts at the TTC and a friend almost put her foot on one in the lazy river at one of the waterparks:scared1:

Fortunately, I have been oblivious to them when I am there. (I do admit to hauling :eeyore: up from the boat dock when we stay at WL:lmao:)

I briefly considered tent camping at the campground (can't beat the price) until I considered the snake issue.

HAHAHA. No kidding, eh? Hahaha. I'm just picturing us... LOL!!!

We would just powerwalk through any heavily landscaped area!!!

TTC lamposts??? Oh.my.gosh.

I already do just that, Heather! :rotfl: But tent camping??? NO NO NO...not only snakes, but creepy crawlies of every possible shape and size. EEK!!!

Funny, I thought POP and the Contemporary might be safer b/c there is more concrete...then I remembered about the POP tree..and we all know about the snake nest in the drapes of a room on the 10th floor of CR.

Bedbugs, snakes.....gee, and it's our very favorite place...we must ALL be NUTS!!!! Well, that's no surprise. :3dglasses

I did read on here that someone spotted a coral snake at TTC so I was on the lookout there. I did not let anyone sit down anywhere except on a chair. My eyes were everywhere. I don't know how I ever enjoyed myself to be honest. I was a nervous wreck the entire time.

It is what it is. Ain't nuthin we can do 'bout it, except stay home and that is not an option for me. :)

No, I didn't :scared1: again, thanks. I think.

Thanks Janet. So far, it's been spent running the roads!

I know what that's like!!
Hope you get to go out for dinner or Mark & Cassie could treat you to a home cooked meal on your special day. :flower3:

Uh, Heather? There are 18 non venemous snakes and three venemous ones in PA - copperhead, timber rattlesnake, and Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake

We don't see no snakes in our highly populated Phila area!! They must be from thar hills of rural PA!!:rotfl:

Gee I must be totally oblivious to them when I'm in DW!! I've never seen ANY snakes! Good thing.

No fancy dinners here or even a cake. Had leftovers for dinner and that was the extent of my day. I did get a birthday card from my mommy and daddy, so that was nice. :)

That's what you get (or don't get!) for being the best cook on the house!!!

The creepy crawlies would not hold me back from going to Disney (haven't yet), but the bedbugs do have me concerned. Did you hear about the big bedbug conference in Chicago? Think it is this month....finally getting together to find way to get rid of the things. :thumbsup2

Tracy - I agree with Christine, no home cooked meal from your family as you are such a great cook and it would not compare to what you would do:)

Bedbug conference? wow - I guess there is a conference for everything.

You know, until I was on the DIS, I never heard of these little creatures. Didn't see any at POP either in August - wonder if the seasons make any difference.

Janet, bedbugs are not unheard of or unusual anymore - they are in all 50 states. You can get them shopping in stores, movie theatres, riding public transportation, air and train travel - anywhere and everywhere. You have been VERY lucky not to pick them up on your Disney trips - we all have been, especially now that it has become so serious. Morning and evening national and local news has a story about bedbugs nearly every day. It has become a very serious U.S. epidemic. Has nothing to do with seasons. :thumbsup2

Disney now has bedbug detecting dogs - these cost about $10,000 EACH, so you know it is a very serious problem for any company to make that kind of investment. ::yes::

I am terrified of bringing them home - it is a few thousand dollars to rid a home of bedbugs, depending on the size of the home. And some people are allergic to the bites - it's awful.:sad2:

Janet -didn't see your post. We must have posted at the same time. No, I don't watch Glee. Tuesdays are hockey and Biggest Loser nights for us!

Yes, bedbugs are all over the news. Some say freeze them to death and some say fry them out with heat. I'd be more inclined to think that the heat would work the best, but for some reason, am skeptical that even that works permanently. I can't imagine that they are letting this infestation get so bad when we *do* have a chemical that will kill them... I'm torn. I don't know how I feel about that.

It's supposed to be beautiful here (for us anyways) and can't wait to open the windows up and get some fresh air in this house.

Had to drive Mark to work this morning because the tow truck took my truck to the dealership yesterday... piece of garbage it is... and I had to transfer my coffee from my Mickey (china) mug to my plastic resort mug. I got teary eyed and told Mark that I was going to pretend that I was going for my early morning coffee at Old Port Royale.

You know I'd say about that dilemma.....:rolleyes1 ..........................................................
