Pickle Ball Courts at OKW?

Hi all!

We are headed to WDW at the end of March. DS is a pickle ball lover, and DH thought that there might be pickle ball courts at OKW? If he is correct, were are they located? We are not staying at OKW...we are staying one night at AKL-Kidani, and then transferring to VGF. We are DVC members, in case that matters? I'm wondering if it's possible to use the pickle ball courts at some point while we are down there?

Just thought I would check. Thanks for any info!

There aren't any dedicated pickleball courts in Disney but you can borrow paddles at OKW and AKL Community Halls and play on the tennis courts.

@GinnyBear's_mom thank you! Are the pickle ball courts marked out on the tennis courts? Is it OK to use the courts even if we're not staying at OKW?

we have used the tennis courts at bay lake when staying at wilderness. So I don’t think that’s a problem although we just took the boat to the contemporary from wilderness and didn’t have to go thru security. But there is at least one dedicated pickle ball court at OKW. It’s over by the smaller quiet pool. I know people who have used it. It seems to be busy a lot.

We were just at OKW and were hoping to play tennis but the courts were closed every day. It looks like they might have been marking them for pickle but I’m not sure. Almost all of the public courts in our town have been marked for pickle so you can play either pickle or tennis.

That’s consistent with my observations as well. When we were twenty years younger, adult DS and I played tennis there a couple of time, when he was visiting WDW at the same time we were. He usually stayed at the Yacht Club, but we played at BWV, our home resort. We never had a problem finding an open court.

We just left OKW in January and stayed in the Turtle Pond area. There are tennis courts across from bus stop and those courts are outlined for pickle ball! you can get pickle ball paddles at community hall
