Because when free dining was announced for Oct on, the phone CM's went out of their way to tell anyone with a room only reservation ahead of a free dining reservation that they would not be allowed to pick up tickets early. I knew that if I ASKED, I would likely be told no, so I didn't ask. But I was surprised when they told that unprompted.
Since then there have been a number of responses saying CM's have told people they USED to allow this, but would not any more.
My fear is that they are laying the groundwork for a change. Those of us told by phone that we could not do it don't start arriving until October. It seems to me that if they were indeed changing the policy, they would have to have a little runout time for people who might have been told they could do this.
So while current stories of success with this are helpful, I won't feel convinced for a couple more months. I hope everyone keeps posting back here over time with their experiences.
Not very "magical" - I told her to stop and that I would speak to Guest Relations.
, and the CM told me again w/o prompting that I could not do it, so I just said okay and left it alone. I feel much more confident now that it will not be a problem, especially as people continue to post their successes with it here.
