Picking up tickets early with split stay and FP+ questions

We are staying one day at the YC on a room only then we are going to the BC for the rest of our stay with 9 day hopper passes. Since our flight back home is in the morning, we will not be using the last day on our passes (no big deal). I know that we can pick up our tickets early and use them on our YC day. How does that work with 2 sets of Magic Bands and how do we pick up our tickets early (like where do we go to activate them early)? Do we take our BC bands with us and use them? Not that it's a huge deal, but I chose different colors for me and DH that I'm not particularly fond of and I used the girls' full names for our YC magic bands. I figured that would differentiate them from our "real" ones for the BC. I don't want us to be stuck with the YC ones for the whole time. (really, really stupid complaint; I know!)

Second question is about FP+ and picking up tickets early. I can't pre-plan them online since it says that I don't have a ticket for that day. However, once I pick them up, will I be able to plan them the day of (assuming there are any left) on MDE or (as a last resort) at a kiosk? We are ok with just going with the flow and using standby if we have to since this is a bonus day and we aren't even sure if we will go to the parks or just hang out at Stormalong Bay for the day.

You can use EITHER SET of MagicBands at any time during your trip.
Once one set is active, all sets are automatically active.

Go to any guest relations outside any park to make sure you can use your tickets before check-in.

If you activate your resort package tickets early (up to 3 days early is possible) you can
make FP+ reservations as soon as those tickets are activated.
Otherwise, once you enter a theme park, you can make same-day FP+ for any active tickets that you have
(for which you have not already made FP+ reservations.)
