Picking up Tickets Early Question

We usually have a room only reservation before we check in for our package. This will also be the case for our upcoming trip. This is the first year I am considering picking up our tickets early. I read on the ticket thread that this can be done at Guest Services. So my question is that if we pick up our tickets a day early, can we also add a day to our tickets? We currently have 8 day Park Hoppers for our package starting August 25th. If we pick them up on August 24th, can I add an extra day to our tickets at the same time or later during our trip? And must that be done at a Park Guest Relations rather than our hotel (Coronado)?

We did early ticket pickup during our Thanksgiving trip. You can do it at any Guest Relations office, but if you do it at DTD you have to go to GR at the Disney Quest window since they are the only DTD location that can print the tickets.

We also added a day, but did not do so when we picked them up at Guest Relations. I asked about it and the CM recommended waiting to add the day later after checking in at the hotel. He said he could do it but it was more complicated and it would strip the park tickets from our room key and it was more likely to cause problems than if we added the day later.

When I checked in at the hotel, I told them I had picked up our tickets early and they handled it fine. Then i just had to get in the Concierge line and add the day. It was really simple to do.

Thank you so much for the info! The MK has EMH evening hours on the night before our package and I am really hoping we can take advantage of it! Your experience is just what I wanted to hear!

You can pick the ticket up at the GR window at the MK. And you can upgrade them by adding days at any time during your stay.

I'm so glad to hear you can do this. We have a room only reservation 2 days before our package starts and I was really hoping to be able to pick up my tickets the day before. I booked the Wishes dessert party as a surprise for my girls and also need to add on one more day!!
