Picking up tickets before package stay?

I am hearing/reading conflicting information about picking up the park tickets early before resort package begins. Several have reported that you can pick up park ticket up to 3 days before your actual package at any park customer relations.

I asked a Disney CM and she said that you could not do this. When I asked if there policy had recently changed she said she wasn't aware of this ever being a possibility.

We were excited to try a split stay this time around but our trip would be ruined if we were not able to pick up the tickets 3 days prior.

See the sticky at the top of the Theme Parks and Strategies board; you can up to three days before.

CM's are not supposed to tell you that you can do it, but it can be done.

Hmm, that makes me nervous. I wonder if I can get an okay in writing from guest relations?

You aren't going to get anything in writing. And you won't get your tickets early unless you follow the steps in the sticky. You can't get them at a resort, for example. And asking a resort or phone CM will not give you the information that you want- they don't have that information at their disposal. You can trust the information in the sticky.
