Picking up the new RV WEDNESDAY!!! Need a green Mickey head sign, please!

I almost hate to post this in fear of jinxing things, but if all goes as planned, we will have our new RV on Wednesday!!! We are newbies to camping (visted the Fort in a borrowed RV in October and loved it), and have been researching and shopping for an RV for almost nine months now. Several months back I started a thread where I asked for all of your opinions on Class A's vs. Fifth Wheels and you were all so helpful! We finally decided that the best RV for us was a Class A and that really helped us to narrow down our search. We searched for new...we search for used...we shopped at dealership and we visited private sellers. We finally decided to purchase a used Fleetwood Providence from a family that lives about an hour and a half from our home. Believe it or not, they are fellow Disney lovers and visit the Fort several times a year. They even frequent this board from time to time, however I don't know what their user name is.

Up until yesterday I had two sets of reservations for our upcoming trip, one at OKW using our DVC membership, and one at the Fort in a premium campsite (because that was all that was available). I was finally able to cancel the DVC reservation yesterday. We will be arriving at the Fort on Saturday, which is my birthday! I'm so excited!!! So is there any way the DIS Mickey Head Fairy could make up one for me with my user name on it so that I can print it out and put it in the RV window for our trip?

Well, like I said, it's used. There is no way we could have afforded a brand new one, although my husband drools over them every time he sees one at a dealership. From everything we can tell, the current owners have taken very good care of the RV, so hopefully we won't have any problems with it for a while.

Thanks everyone! We are very excited, but it's all very bittersweet. My husband wanted an RV for years, but we just didn't feel like we needed one since we are DVC members. Whenever we wanted to go to Disney, we left our dog with my mother, who absolutely loved taking care of him. Well, back in June, she died suddenly, so not only did I lose my mother, who I was extremely close to (and my only living parent), I had also lost the very best dog sitter in the world...she adored my dog! That was when we decided to buy the RV so that Jazz (the dog) could come with us. I honestly believe that my mother would be thrilled that we are getting an RV and that Jazz gets to go on vacation with us. So, while we are happy that we are getting an RV, I would much rather have my Mom still with us.

4Mickey2 - I hope we get to meet while we are down there. I will look for your green Mickey head sign and your Jayco Seneca. We are requesting Loop 800, so hopefully you will find us there!

Thanks, Kelly! My dining room table is now officially covered with all of the stuff that we want to put in the RV. Since we are arriving at the Fort on Saturday, it really doesn't give us much time to pack.

LOL! Yes!!! I had to work yesterday (don't you hate it when the real world gets in the way of your fun?), and so we didn't get on the road until a little after 4:00. The people that we bought it from are so nice, the husband spent over two hours going over every thing he could think of about the RV. He had even made out checklists of things to do once you arrive at the campgrounds and another one for what you need to do before you pull back out of the campsite. The funny part is that they are fellow Disney fans, so at the end of the checksheet for "arrivals" it said something like, "now go to the boat launch and head over to the Magic Kingdom!" It was really funny! We didn't get back home until almost 11 PM, so needless to say, I don't have any pictures yet. We don't even have it pulled down our driveway yet. My husband forgot that he needed to trim some tree branches before he could drive down it, so it is sitting in the cul-de-sac in front of our house right now. If I don't get any pictures today, I know that I will have tons when I get back from FW!!!
