Picking up someone at the Beach Club

I will be at Disney during the last week of Food and Wine Festival - due to cost constraints I will be staying at POP and my friend will be staying at the Beach Club. I have a car and he has a scooter that can be broken down and placed in the car. My question is - I realize that the guard is not supposed to let me into the Beach club parking area but how am I going to pick up my friend? I will have his handicap tag for the car so will that help me any? I am not planning on parking just picking him up.

Have your friend go down to the front desk and explain the situation. Have him give the front desk your license plate number and the approximate time you will be there. They can relay that to the parking attendant. Do not have him call the front desk, have him go there himself.

Tell the guard that you are picking up a friend that is a guest there. I have never been denied admittance to any resort when picking up or visiting a guest of that resort. We frequently pick up or visit friends staying at different resorts.

My inlaws did not have an issue at AK. They just told the guard they were picking us up and he let them in.

You'll find that response at a lot of the resorts, but an Epcot resort during F&W and they really crack down on who they allow through the gates, because so many people attempt to park at the resorts to get easier access to World Showcase.

No worries at all. Don't bother doing anything special. Just drive to the BC and tell the guard you are picking up a guest. You'll be asked to show a photo ID and then waived through. People do this all the time.

As others have said, no worries. Just drive up tell the guard that you're picking up a guest, and you will be let through. I have done it many times. Have fun and don't worry!

To the people that have said "no worries, it happens all the time", have you done this during the Food & Wine Festival? I'm just curious because that was the OP's concern with the timing and the parking situation and being maybe turned away.

OP I agree with disnut8 about explaining the situation to the front desk since it is BC during Food & Wine . They would be the best to let you know if you need to do anything special. We got questioned at the gate coming in a Mears taxi for a dinner at YSH last October.

Did they prevent the taxi from dropping you off?
No but I thought it strange since DH & I were in a clearly marked taxi so no question of us parking . Usually we just gotten waved through when in a taxi .
