Picking up a cancelled reservation

Just wondering if anyone can share their experience with coordinating picking up a cancelled reservation from the "cancellation threads". I have been trying to pick one up that was cancelled at 2 am, by constantly hitting "find a table" since 5 minutes before 2 am. I had heard it takes it a while go get back into the availability system once someone cancels? Anyone know how long I should continue to try?

Thanks!

I dropped a CM ressie on a Saturday afternoon and the OP got it right away. Did you confirm that it was actually dropped? Maybe they slept through the drop time?:confused3

Did you also confirm time zones?

When someone cancels a reservation it becomes available immediately. I have coordinated quite a few times and it has always worked that way. Hope this helps!!!

We did confirm time zones. However, I think maybe the other person didn't actually cancel it. At least, that's what I'm hoping for. I thought I had heard that it takes a while to "process" as a cancellation before it can be picked up as a new ressie. Anyway, I'll keep trying! Thanks for all the tips!

I have arranged 2 drop/pick-ups. What I do is tell the OP to meet me at (for instance) 12 am EST. At that time, I pm the person and let them know I'm signed in and ready to drop. I then ask them to PM me and let me know they're signed in and ready; that I will PM them back letting them know I received their PM but not to PM back. As soon as they receive my confirmation PM to give me a couple of seconds and click on the reservation. If not there, refresh a couple of times until it appears. I have been successful both times, and within a minute or two they have PMed me that they got it.

yes it goes through almost immediately. It is possible that someone else was searching at the same time, however it should have come up as available if you were constantly refreshing.
