when my dd went to DW in January she got a FP time for this ride however, it says "stand by only " for us for October Do they do FP's or is this something that has stopped?

That means all the FP's have been distributed and it's stand by only.

PP is correct. However, don't lose hope. You can keep checking. People change their FP+ all the time as they firm up plans. Also, if you have multiple people in your party you might want to try for just a couple or one at a time and settle for getting FP+s that overlap times, so you can ride together.

One issue with FP in Oct for popular MK attractions like 7DMT is that there are less hours avail for booking compared to some other times of the year due to MK closing early 4 nights a week for MNSSHP. I booked our FP at midnight 60 days out for our upcoming Oct vacation and for our MK Saturday I had trouble getting afternoon FP at 60 days out for a party of 3-I had to take dinnertime ones and keep checking back-eventually by moving 1 person at a time I was able to move them up to overlapping afternoon times but it took checking the app every day to do so. I would keep checking avail as people do change their plans often.
