when my dd went to DW in January she got a FP time for this ride however, it says "stand by only " for us for October Do they do FP's or is this something that has stopped?

It means the FPs are already gone. You can keep watching in hopes someone will cancel theirs.

Not necessarily all gone, split up everyone into single riders and try and get a shared window...you have to check several times a day..grab first available time and keep checking to see if more FPs are released. 7 of us going on Sunday got a 15 min shared window. Last month I was able to book on a Monday for the next day, shared window 30 minutes

Keep trying! We were not able to get it and I checked daily and finally got it. Have to say we were very disappointed. The ride is SUPER short and not nearly as fun as BTMRR.

Just curious but if the FP+ are gone for 7DMT already, what does that mean for same day FP+ reservations? Does that mean anyone with a 1 day ticket can never get a FP+ for it? or do they hold some aside for same day bookings?

When they are gone, they are gone - none are held back as far as I know. But keep checking, even when your in the park - you never know when someone who had a FP was able to just jump in the standby line and then cancels the FP to do something different

Definitely check. It would take some really good luck, but it can happen. We cancelled Anna and Elsa the day we were supposed to see them last October. We had seen them earlier in the week. The CM helping us at the FP+ kiosk said I think you are going to make someone very happy in about 30 seconds. This one will be gone before you even finish booking your new one.
