I went to Verizon yesterday(that's my carrier) and fell in love with two phones: Samsung Fascinate and Droid X!! They both do pretty much the same thing except the Fascinate has a longer battery life. I talked to the sales girl that I always go thru and asked her her opinion on both. She started laughing at me because her bf has the SF and she has the DX. The Fascinate looks and feels like the iPhone and even has alot of the same functions from what I've heard.

So..I was wondering if anyone on here has either of these phones or what phone do you have that you absolutely love. I'm goin to get the phone in about 2-3wks..when my upgrade eligibility is offered. Thanks so much for your help!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I have the droid x and I really like it. The only thing you might want to consider is the size. It's a pretty big phone, and I think next time I'm eligible for an upgrade I'll go with a slightly smaller screen.

The droid x has a better camera, other than that they look very similar. The X has more internal memory and a high capacity memory card slot. I've owned motorola and samsung phones. I had much better luck with motorola than samsung for what its worth.

I know it's a pretty big phone..especially compared to the one I have now. I have an EnV2 and I like it..but it's time to move on..LOL

I've been leaning more towards the X simply because I've had Motorola and really haven't had too many problems with them. Does either phone come with that Disney Parks app that you know of?? Also..do you know if that apps are the same on both phones??

Mobile Magic is not available on any smart phone. However, WDW Lines is better anyway and works great on any droid.

the iphone has a really great app for the parks with wait times, restaurant info, etc. I love my iphone!

I got the Samsung Fascinate about 2 weeks ago from Verizon. Moved up from the Envy Touch. Both my fiance and I got it and we like it. There's a pretty big learning curve IMHO. Loading apps is easy. At first I felt like the battery wasn't lasting very long but maybe that was just me. As long as I'm not using the phone in the basement at work the battery lasts all day. I've even loaded a book on the kindle app. I've had some trouble with ring tones (at one point I had 2 playing at the same time). I found a board on the web and have gotten lots of help from it. I know the camera on the droid is a bit better but the fascinate has a really good camera. The quality is nice. Uploading pics to facebook is fast and easy! It's longer than the envy touch but it's much thinner. All in all I'm really happy with it. I've only loaded free apps on it but so far I'm really happy with all the options. I found one to help me with my diet, lots of good games including free Disney ones, ringtones and MP3 files and of course a free one called Disney World Wait which looks pretty cool. PM me if you have any specific questions and I'd be glad to help.

I really like Verizon and I just don't care for iPhone!! I don't know why..maybe because it's Apple and I don't care for Mac..I'm not sure

Hmmmmm...this is getting good and also more difficult!! LOL:lmao: I'm loving all of these options and tips on these phones!! PLUS..I didn't know that there is a thing called FREE APPS!!! I always thought that you had to pay for every app..LOL

Free apps are the only way for me. I guess cuz we're now paying 30 a month per phone for the data package I really can't see paying more for apps. I guess if there were one that I knew I'd use alot, and I couldn't find a free version, I'd buy one. For now though, I've got enough of them and didn't pay anything extra for them. On the phone there is an app called Market. I just use that and click Free. It brings up tons of them to choose from. Good luck with your choice. :goodvibes

I have an EN3 and husband has a DROID. I took his phone for my solo trip to WDW and LOVED it!!! :thumbsup2 DROID is VERY easy to use and overall is awesome! He took the phone on a motorcycle cross country trip and only lost a signal once (in the moutains of Oregon). Something to consider... husband's phone has the slide out keyboard and a friend of mine has one without. I'm not sure what the models are, but I prefer the one with keyboard. Hope this info helps!

Thanks everyone!! It seems like everyone is on the band wagon for the Droid X. UGH!! LOL I hate being confused like this!!! LOL I'm gonna do some more research and I promise to post a pic of the phone when I get it!!:lmao::thumbsup2

OOOOK...I just watched a review on the Fascinate and O..M..G!!! I'm liking this alot more right now..LOL I'm going to see if this guy has a review on the Droid X as well...

Also..the guy was saying something about it being a 3G hotspot phone?? What does that mean?? Does it mean that if I have my laptop I can sign on to the internet thru the phone??

If you pay extra per month for it, you can use the phone as a wi-fi hotspot to connect to the internet. I downloaded an app called PDAnet that lets you connect the phone to your laptop with USB and access the internet. The app costs about $30 once, instead of a monthly charge for the wi-fi feature.

So the $30 is an annual thing?? Also..how do you like it? Is the service good?

Both phones can become 3G hotspots.

The $30 is the one-time cost of buying the program you run on your computer to connect to your phone's internet. They have a one month free trial so you could try it to see how service is for you.
