Hi Disbrides,

I need some help from experienced Disney Brides.

I am in the very begining of my plans and am having a tough time in chosing a date...

So I need advice......

I am looking at either October 2010, December 2010 or January 2011

If you had a Disney wedding during any of these months please give me your input....

October was beautiful, however we had record high temperatures. If I could do it again, I probably would have done early December. :thumbsup2

And if in December, it would depend on what time in the month. The first half is considered value season, so it would be cheaper for guests. But the second half... hotel prices are at their highest! And some locations have Christmas decorations up (AAR for example), so whether or not you would want that is a factor as well. I like going in January (my mom used to take us out of school to go then! :rotfl:) No lines in the parks and cheap hotels. And the weather, from what I remember, was always nice. :thumbsup2

I vote for early Dec as well. The parks & resorts will be decorated for Christmas...GORGEOUS time to go. I myself am an Oct. bride, but we're having our ceremony at home, and honeymooning in Disney..our date is 10/10/10! :thumbsup2

We got pulled out of school for a week every January too!! :goodvibes

As for wedding month- ours was early December. The weather was gorgeous on our wedding day, it definitely is less crowded then many other times of the year (although that seems to be changing as more people are picking up on that fact), as pp mentioned it's value season so cheaper room rates and you get the Christmas Decorations if you want them.

If you aren't interested in the x-mas decor then I say January because it is very quiet around Disney and you won't have the heat or threat of hurricanes that can take place in October. :thumbsup2

We choose early Dec. for Christmas :santa: We didn't want to do October due to hurricane season, and it can still be very hot as others have noted. We've gone in January a couple of times, and the weather has been very nice to somewhat chilly. But, there are so few crowds, even one MLK week we just about walked onto any ride we wanted! :goodvibes

We've gone for early December. We usually go end Sept/beg Oct but think the heat and humidity might have been a bit much for some of the people coming to the wedding.

We've always wanted to go in December and see the decorations :goodvibes

In Dec. they double the prices I think depending on WHEN in Dec.
It also more crowded in Dec. (at least closer to X-mas) than Dec. (past like the 3rd?).

We were married early December and liked it. It was warmer than I was hoping for (78 ish)- I actually wanted a little cooler since I live here. But 2 days later the high was only 48 or somethign. But it was sunny and beautiful on our wedding day- a touch on the warm side.

I live in FL and I know how summery October still is so personally I would never get married outside in Fl in October. 2 weeks ago it was still a heat index of over 100 degrees here....

I would vote for Dec or January.

It stinks that the weather isn't always consistent. Last weekend I was up there and it was around 50 degrees in the morning. I would be freezing!!

I originally wanted to get married in October, but honestly rather have heat than cold!

I just got married on October 8th we were really surprised how hot it was! (Although it was record high temps). We were literally wiping sweat off of ourselves in between pictures (gross I know). Although it was beautiful I would have gone at least late October, I have gone in late November and the temp was beautiful so I would imagine that early December would be the same.

We are thinking about going with Dec. but we also like November...both are great month's and the prices aren't so bad during the first couple of weeks and the weather is really nice.

Dawn - today is my two week anniversary! :lmao:I completely agree with that 100 heat index!

We are getting married at the WP a year from today and I am definately hoping that this years high 80s low 90s temp will be long gone!!! I am hoping for cooler temps!!

I just love the month of October so we are going with it!!

Sue

We were married the first week of January and it was absolutely perfect. No crowds and great weather. Plus, people had a little bit of time to recover from the holiday rush and they weren't worried about spending Christmas money on stuff at the parks, so I feel like more of our guests went out to eat, etc.

Thanks ladies...

We have decided to go with January. It's right after the holidays so it would be a nice little vacation after all that chaos....

The weather seems to be nice and overall the cost of travel is cheaper

Thanks again!!!

Ohhhh that was when you got married?!?! October is always toasty all month long but that was a particularly toasty time! I am sure you had an amazing wedding. I saw the pics and I am waiting for your trippie!! As are many of us!!!!!!!! Hurry up lady!:goodvibes

The only downside to January is it can get cold and rainy! For the last 6 years we've gone to stay at BCV ever January. I think about 3 trips have been warm and 3 have been FREEEEZING. Unfortunately it's really 1/2 and 1/2. But I'm sending pixie dust your way. :wizard:

We're getting married in Oct, a year from today!!! But I love going down in January. Just make sure not to choose MLK weekend, or the marathon weekend IMO. We've gone down twice and will be going down for the marathon this year. It's usually brisk in the morning and evenings but it warms up. And it's actually on the low side of precipitation for FL.
