I need help deciding on what deluxe resort to stay in next september. We are doing the ten night cruise with 5 nights at WDW I am trying to decide between the CR, in the tower building, Poly garden view, or AKL in conceirge. Please please help me decide. What has the best food, close to parks, overall feeling of resort. Thank you all for your help. :confused3

If I had to stay at a deluxe I would choose Swan or Dolphin.
Maybe The AK.
I would not want to stay at a monorail hotel. I stayed at the Contemporary once and one time was enough.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
The buses are wonderful. It is just a 10 minute ride from All Stars to Epcot,MGM,or AK and a 20 minute ride to MK.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can you find Mickey or Donald at your pool?
I can hardly wait.

Really depends on your taste.
They are all great resorts. If you enjoy the convenience of a monorail resort then it's between CR & Poly. Then you have to decided if you like the tropical theme or the more contemporary theme. Both will have newly done rooms. I suggest taking a look at the pics online to see which decor you prefer.

As for AKL...if you like the safari theme, that's for you. It is a very dark resort. Not my first choice. But many love it there. Plus you will have to take the buses everywhere unless you have a car.

If it were my choice, for my own vacation...I think I would go with the CR.

Good luck to you! Enjoy :goodvibes

Like others have said, I think it depends. We've considered AKL many times, but have always ruled it out b/c of location. We like to have quick easy access to at least one of the parks. We stayed on the 12th floor of CR in 10/03 and loved it. We had an MK view and we loved sitting on the balcony every night watching over MK. The resort has the best location if you intend to spend a lot of time at MK. We're planning our June '06 trip now and I'm debating between CR and Poly. We really liked the CR, but like to try new things.

Good luck with your decision.

AKL is my favorite resort. The theming is incredible. It just can't be beat. If you are dependent on the bus system, know that AKL doesn't share the bus system and really end up getting you places much faster due to the lack of multiple stops. The only way that it is out of the way due to location is if you want to walk.

There is nothing to the CR--except the monorail and being in walking distance to MK. Probably one of my least favorite resorts.

I would choose AKL. Contrary to what some say, I do not feel that this is a "dark" resort. It is absolutely beautiful. I love the whole feel of the place. :paw: :paw:

AKL is stunning with or without animals. There are many vibrant colors and art pieces throughout. I would not consider it dark, I would describe it as rich. The hotel design, artwork, activities, animals, restaurants, firepits etc are all awesome ! Transportation is excellent, location a non-issue as far as we are concerned. When I return to my hotel I want it to be an oasis away from the parks and this is it. And if you add concierge - wow !
