I've made a decision to get a car service to take us from our resort to PC on cruise day. There are only two of us and don't want to rent a car, but don't want to have to sweat when we will be picked up by DCL (still using them to take us to airport on debarkation).
What is a good pickup time to get there early enough to eat, etc.? Last time we took the bus from the airport and were in one of the first groups. I liked that. Should I shoot to get there at 11, 11:30? Thanks.

The terminal at Port Canaveral opens at 10:30am. The lowest boarding numbers will be given to guests with the earliest PATs. Boarding typically begins around 11:15/11:30. If you want to have one of the lowest boarding groups, you'll need to get a 10:30-10:45 PAT window. Then arrive when you wish. Be aware that some limo services won't pick-up for arrival any earlier than 11:00am, as that's apparently when limo services are allowed to enter for drop-off even though personal cars can arrive/park earlier.

Enjoy your cruise!

Yes I just noticed one of the companies I looked at said 10AM is the earliest pickup. Still earlier than DCL busses, LOL.

When we take the DCL transfers, we still get there with plenty of time to eat so you don't to rush to be there as soon as it opens unless you just want to - lunch is usually open until at least 2-2:30. Also, it depends on what port arrival time you're able to book. If you don't get an early one, you'll just end up waiting in the terminal until your boarding number comes up or open boarding, whichever comes first. Best if you can coordinate pick-up time and PAT for most efficiency.

Opening boarding often starts about 12:30. An arrival at that time will allow you to check and head right on board.

I'm looking to get on before that. I can pick my PAT next week so I'm looking at my options now.

It takes an hour or so to get from MCO to the port, so from WDW resorts maybe a bit more. So if you have the car service pick you up about 1.5 hours before your PAT, you should be fine. Once you get there the car will drop you at a point where the porters will take your checked bags onto the ship, and you will take your carry-ons over to the terminal, through security, check-in, and then board the ship when your number is called. Boarding number is tied to PAT, not to arrival time, so getting there before your PAT won't get you on the ship any earlier, and there isn't much to do in the terminal except wait (and not that many chairs either). If you REALLY want to make sure you get on the ship at the first moment you are allowed, maybe figure for the car service to get you to the port half hour before your PAT, but as i say, you will probably spend most/all of that extra half hour waiting for your boarding number to be called.
