Pick my week in September for me

My family of 4 plus my parents are planning a fall trip to Disney! We have two daughter 4 and 2. I want to go in September for the low crowds since it is hard for them to wait in long lines. I know it will be hot then, but dosent concern me too much. we plan on staying on property. The food and wine show is not something we would be doing and we would possibly be interested in the halloween party of offered when we are there. For all you vetran planers, any thoughts on when in September to go? Thank you!

Hve you checked crowd calendars at easywdw or touringplans.com? I would pick lowest predicted crowd levels.

I'll play. The first two full weeks will have really low crowds. The parks will usually close earlier. The third week will give you a better, but not a certain, chance to have Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

The first or 2nd week would be probably be good choices. F&W doesn't start until the 14th. We don't know for sure yet, but Disneys website is showing some hours for MK to close at 7pm, which can be an indication of MNSSHP.. but dates have yet to be released.

We are going the first week. We are hoping for better crowds than November, and did not want to go when F&W was happening. Not because we don't enjoy it, but because we enjoy Epcot much more without the crowds from the festival. We can deal with the heat/rain, if it means possibly lower crowd levels. Are you planning on getting the dining plan and doing table service meals? I would plan soon, as it is time to make advanced reservations for early September already. We check-in on the 3rd and made ours this morning.

We are going the 17th to 24th. But food and wine played a big role in this. If you have no interest in f&w I would recommend going earlier as it does make epcot more crowded.

I agree that I would go for the lower crowds. The last two weeks will be significantly more crowded due to F&W and MNSSHP. With young children, I would avoid the crowds and the parties (it is hard for the little ones to say up anyway) and go the first couple of weeks.

We are going the last week, but only because it is our fall break and I teach and have a child in school, so we don't have the option to go earlier. A lot of Georgia schools have fall break the last week and I would imagine it will be quite a crowded week.

Even if food and wine is going on, you can still visit everything without visiting the booths. EPCOT gets more crowded during F&W on Fridays, weekends, and any day after 6PM. But most of those people are there for food and wine.

The Party is great fun but lasts until midnight. We went with our 2 year old last year, he was fast asleep in the stroller by the time hallo-wishes came around. You can still do plenty during the party but expect it to generally be more crowded than off nights. But it is fun for the littles to meet characters, and trick or treat. Just remember it can still be hot. During our trip which was Sep30-Oct 1 it was still 88 some nights during the first parade. So appropriate costumes should be considered.

We did 13-20th two years ago and it was great. Now the 20th was the first day of F&W then but I believe it starts the 14th this year. If you're not into F&W, Epcot gets really busy on weekends and in the evenings, especially on party nights because MK closes at 7. In our experience, anyways. I would suggest just visiting Epcot during the day, maybe only once at night during the week, if you want to stay away from F&W crowds. Or, just go before it starts! The Halloween party is really fun! It was super hot but we made do and had a great time.

We went last September over Labor Day weekend - Friday - Tuesday (5 days). It was great with low crowds. The only crowded day/parks was DHS on Monday (Labor Day) because it was the last day of Frozen Summer Fun. Otherwise we just breezed onto everything with minimal waits. The crowd calendar shows low crowds for Labor Day weekend. Surprising to me. We are looking at either arriving September 4 or 11.

We've gone in September 12/15 of our last trips. The first two weeks are the slowest. As soon as the Halloween party and F&W start, it pick up tremendously. There is usually a great difference in those first two weeks to the last 2 weeks. I'd definitely go the first two if you don't want F&W, and try and time it so you can catch the party one of your last days if you would like to do it. We don't want either one so we are going the 31st-11th.
