I'm determined to book my vaca package when they are released.. I've spent the past week going crazy on every single site imaginable. So I'm looking for some suggestions from you all.... (not POR since we stayed there & want something new)
1 adult, 3 disney adults (teen boys)
$5500 budget (not including flight)
7 or 8 nights
No Hopper but WP
We like to relax by the pool
Size of Resort does not matter!
APRIL 2016
Thank-you so much!!!

My teen boys like the following resorts the best:

Value - Sports or Pop

Moderate - Coronado Springs

Deluxe - Animal Kingdom Lodge, Polynesian, or Beach Club

The resorts that appeal to them the least: French Quarter and Grand Floridian

:) Thanks so much for the reply! CSR was on top of my list actually. Love the fact they have a gym. Only concern is the upcoming refurb.

Teenage boys would love Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club/Yacht Club, and the great proximity to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

They would also like the casual vibe and tropical fun of Polynesian Village Resort. Even Fort Wilderness in a cabin would be a great adventure for them.

Those are my votes. :)

Beach Club for a deluxe if you can get a good discount. So nice to have quick access to 2 parks and SAB is great1

My DD(20) & DS(18) prefer BC but would stay at Coronado with no problem for a moderate. DS liked to take a walk around the lake at night when DD & I settled in for the night. Pool seems great and rooms were nice.

Thanks everyone! Would love to stay @ one of the deluxe resorts, but thinking that's out of my price range... Beach Club looks amazing though! Dream.
Will probably go for CSR.

you could always check on the BC - so call instead of making your reservations on the computer - but you can look on computer to compare prices

CSR is a great option. There are some refurbs going on there soon, though. I'm not sure when or to what degree. You might want to request a room away from any construction.

Have you considered the Swan/Dolphin? While not WDW resorts, they are true luxury resorts with luxury amenities and in the Epcot/DHS area. the pool is quite nice as well. If you are a teacher, nurse or military you qualify for some good discounts. My DIL is a nurse and was able to get a room for $180 per night over Thanksgiving. With the resort fee that is $203 per night plus tax. Not bad at all! There are also senior and AAA rates that are pretty good!

My choice would be to go to CSR for the first 4 nights then stay at the Swan or Dolphin for the last 3 - 4 nights.

Good luck deciding!

What a wonderful suggestion!!! I've always wondered about the swan/dolphin & I'm a Starwood member sooo I will certainly consider that option! Thanks :teeth:
And I'm not a nurse, teacher or military although I totally admire them! Such selfless careers. They deserve discounts everywhere!

I would definitely recommend Beach Club or Yacht Club because of the pool and location.

If that turns out to be out of the budget, I think Animal Kingdom Lodge would be a great choice. You really can't go wrong with any Disney resort!

I think that any deluxe resort would be out of your budget, unless you could find a really good discount. If you do find one, I'd definitely look closely at AKL.

CSR would probably work well, especially if you added a request to be placed away from any construction.

But I wonder about the number of beds that you need. Will you share with one of your sons? Bring an air mattress? Or do you need 3 beds? If so, you might need to look at a family suite at ASMu or AoA or bite the bullet and go with a deluxe room with 2 beds and a day bed.

Hmmm... My younger son will be 12 & can share a bed w/me for a week. I didn't even consider The other resorts you suggested. Will look into them for sure. Thanks for the suggestions :hyper2:

If the pool is important I'd consider the BC.............Stormalong Bay is the best pool on property. POP could save you big bucks on the rooms...........but I'd do BC!

Have a great vacation!!

Doug :goofy:

Hi, it is my understanding that some of the mods have Murphy beds... Would that solve the bed problem? Not sure if this helps. And BTW thanks for the complement on nurses and teachers... I am both and appreciate the kudos! Gracias!

Hi!!! Yeah, I saw the Murphy bed options! I just consider my youngest my baby forever lol... I guess it is a little odd for him to share a bed w/me for a week  Soooo now I'm seriously re working my budget & maybe looking Twds a deluxe.
And both a nurse & teacher... Hero status!!

We have stayed at All-Star music and also Caribbean. Both of them were great, but we loved getting the family suite at All-Star music a few years ago! The best part was having two bathrooms, and there was plenty of space for everyone. The money that we saved staying at a value resort was just spent on the suite. The pools were great, and they always had fun music playing. My kids love the parks, that they wanted to go back to the polls every afternoon. Hope this helps!

You might want to price the Cabins at the campground also. The guys could stay in the bedroom (Q bed and bunks) and you in the living area plus you could ride the boat to MK. They are suppose to be in the moderate price range too.
The rooms at AKL would be really crowded with 3 teenage boys and yourself IMO.
The garden rooms at the Contemporary are huge and would be enough beds (2 Q and daybed) if you think that would be an option.

Discounts do come up, so keep an eye out. Sometimes Yacht club gets deals BC doesnt. The two beds with the cool daybed would work great. My 12 y old wanted it and didn't need it. It seems to me with tickets at roughly 1000, if you could get room with a discount for 300 times 8 at 2400 and add tax is roughly 3500, you still could probably even get meal plan for big eating boys. The deluxe room size is noticeably roomier, and you can't beat easy epcot/has access and storm along bay. I would look into this if I were you.
