We (me, DH, DDs 5 & 8) have tickets for 6:00pm Cirque for our 1st full day at WDW (the next day it goes dark for a week). Anyway, we're planning on spending the afternoon there and will need some dinner before the show.

What are your favorite resturants there? I've read that many of them can be slow, so we'd probably have to eat pretty early. (or have a late lunch and grab something after the show??)

We're first timers, so we greatly appreciate all of the wonderful advice you have to offer!:)

Hi,

We ate at fulton's after the show this past May. The food was good but it is pricey, we were on the silver plan so i was trying to get my moneys worth for my wishes.

Jim.:D

Last year on Christmas eve we combined Cirque then Fulton's. I wouldn't do Fulton's late on a holiday again as they were out of a lot of selections but I would go back on a less busy day.

Try the Rainforest Cafe. Food is good and kids love the atmosphere of eating inside a jungle.

We've had good experiences with Rainforest Cafe, Portobello Yacht Club, and Wolfgang Puck's Cafe...the first floor of his restaurant in West Side. I think we're doing this show the night before yours (DEC. 3rd), and we're struggling with either eating before or after the show as it will be our last park day. I'm leaning towards dinner before the show and dessert at Ghirardelli's afterwards. YUM!:p

Have fun!

The kids will definitely enjoy Rainforest Cafe. We enjoy it too. There is so much variety I always have a hard time deciding. Be aware that it is the farthest restaurant from Cirque in DTD. You will have to travel the length of Market PLace then through or around Pleasure Island and then through all of the West End. It's quite a walk but if you do it early you can have a leisurely walk PAST all the shops!

Other option that we have not tried because we like the walk (w/o kids mind you) is to hop back on the bus and take it to the West End stop. Rainforest is the 1st place inside the entrance from the bus stop. Depending on when the bus arrives it may take the same time but save the kiddos from walking so far.

Anyone ever try this??

One of our favorites is Bongo's Cuban Cafe. It's close to Cirque and becuse the restaurant is so large , there is very little wait. The food is pretty darn good too.

I've heard good things about the Rainforest Cafe, but didn't realize it was far away from Cirque. About how long of a walk do you think it would be from one to the other?

We love the Earl of Sandwich...fast service, great food.

You really can't miss with the Rainforest Cafe. When we went to Cirque, we ate at the House of Blues becuase it's right there and that was excellent with a fun atmosphere as well. I would also suggest you hit Ghiradelli's for ice cream after the show! Yum!!

We did HOB with DD 10,11 and DS 5. We all agreed it was one of our best meals, and it's right across the walkway from Cirque.

I vote nay on Rainforest Cafe.

The food is maybe a notch better than Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood, but the overall experience is even worse than what I'd imagine eating a meal in the middle of Space Mountain is like.

If you live in a city without one, then the restaurant might have a novelty value. Otherwise you'll wait a LOOOONG Time for your table (more than an horu on weekends!) and eat mediocre themed food. It's a very loud restaurant - certainly not the place for a leisurely, quiet meal.

Also: avoid Capt Jack's at all costs. Eat vending machine potato chips if necessary.

I suggest Portabello Yacht Club, House of Blues, or Wolfgang Puck's.

IMO - With two young children the Rainforest Cafe is a can not miss location. My DS (10) loved every minute of it.

Is it noise? Yes, but that is part of the charm.

If you want a quiet place, then this is not it.

But for a ton of fun and IMO pretty darn good food, then this is the one.
