Pick a new resort theme.

I always thought it would be cool to have a 'Parks' Resort that actually reflected each of the parks. Maybe a moderate where all the buildings are spaced equally from the lobby. I actually drew this up a couple of years ago one day when I was bored. All the pools would reflect the main icon... except I made the pool for MK into a Mickey head... but it could be a castle - I just didn't have the patience to draw one... What do you think?

That is a really great idea!! I really like it!!

Wow Tara 8595, that's awesome, you're very creative. You should send that to Disney, I'd stay there in a heartbeat. Just tell them to include rooms that accomodate 5 or 6. LOL!!!

I don't think a villian theme would be any more geared towards boys as the all star sports is...and that's there...I think it would be great to have a villians themed resort...I think an Egyptian theme or ocean theme would be good too...

Peru, Machu Pichu theme. Ancient Incan treasures all about. The character meal would be characters from Emperor's New Groove, the topiaries would be llamas, and the pool CuscoTopia, BooYeah! (Don't really know how to spell that.)

BTW, overall South America is sadly absent from WDW - nothing at WS, nothing even in Animal Kingdom, come on, where's the Amazon (Rainforest Cafe is about it, unless I'm missing something)? In fact, the resort could represent all of SA, with different sections including Peru, Gallapagos, Brazil (Mardi Gras), Argentina, Cape Horn...lots could be done with this theme.

I think a Fantasmic theme would be great! Something that incorporates Princesses, Villians - all the characters that we go to Disney World to see! I'd say even throw some pirates in there what the heck! :lmao: It would have a similiar setup to the All-Stars. Have a Villians Building, Princess/Pirate building, etc. :)

...I think an Egyptian theme or ocean theme would be good too...

Oooooh! Yes! Or Greece! Persia or Ancient Rome, or combine them and make it an ancient civilizations theme, including Atlantis. Now we just have to come up with a catchy name.

How about a Seven Wonders of the World theme. I know they just changed them recently but they could incorporate the old and new wonders as well as natural and man-made. How cool would a Niagara Falls pool be??? I'm not sure I'd want to go down that waterslide.

I would like to see a resort based on the Belle's village or Pinnochio's village. This would not be a high rise but a series of winding cobbled streets with one, two and fthree story buildings. Because of the winding streets and variety of architecture the rook=ms would be many different sizes, including suites and some would have balconies and patios and others would not. It would be much more detailed than usual so that it appeared you were really in an old village. Off in the woods there could be some more expensive suites in cottages themed to Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Alice in Wonderland.

This sounds great.

Why would you say that, there are plenty if Pirate loving girls out there, me included as well as the other girls in the family. Pirate Wenches, Pirate Princesses, etc

Now, there are many female villans, Maleficient, Cruella, Snow's Witch, Cindy's stepmother and stepsisters, Ursala (sp?), White Witch from Narnia, etc

Suzanne

I agree! My DD4 loves princesses, pirates, and villains. As do the rest of my family.

Wow-fun thread!:goodvibes

I love the idea of Belle's town or Pinnochio's town-I think that's my favorite idea listed so far! The cottages sound great!

Another idea I think would be great is maybe a Swiss Alps type resort with an ice skating rink and snow!!

I think that they would be too sex oriented, more for the boys.

I was thinking "Well it really can't help that. What with Jack and Will and Norrington..."

Then I saw the "more for the boys" part, and figured out what you really meant...

How about something a bit more boyish-- maybe Cars or something?

Or a Little Mermaid underwater type of thing?

But the number one priority should be more choices for families of more than 4. Regardless of the price or the theme or the location-- this seems to be the biggest void in the huge Disney system.

I love the world showcase countries idea for a mod!

I think an Asian themed hotel would be a beautiful Deluxe option as would a Venetian style. Also something whimsical (think Wynn Las Vegas)with interior courtyard gardens straight out of Alice and wonderland but themed so much that way. I would make the rooms different color schemes and furniture etc. I would make this an EPCOT resort.

Or possibly a Vintage Hollwood (think Art deco) inspired theme. Something similiar to the Disney Magic. I thought it was interesting that Drexel Heritage came out with a "Walt Disney" line and it was very 1940"s Deco. The furnishings could be similiar to that line. I think MGM would be a great area for this Hotel.

I'd love for Disney to poll the public before theming their next resort, these ideas are great!!!
Again, I think a value/mod for parties of 5 or 6 is long overdue, I really dislike having to book 2 rooms or pay out the wazoo for a suite or deluxe.

I love some of these ideas especially the world show case theme....sounds great and what a wonderful food court that would be!!!

But for the longest time I have been wanting DL and WDW to build a large resort based on all the different animals from all of the animated movies they have had over the years and make it a pet friendly hotel.
I would like to see all of the rooms have laminate (sp?) wood type flooring (of course to protect it from animal accidents and prevent carpets from having to be shampooed daily) and for them to offer different size mickey beds for your pets based on what size animal you will be checking in with as well as disney themed feeding dishes for your pooches during your stay.
The resort grounds would have of course an onsite kennel for the days you want to head into a park and need someone to care for your companion. The kennel would be grand and themed as well as offer a couple pet pools that are maybe only a foot to a foot and a half deep and of coursed shaped maybe like pluto and of course those micky ears would have to be there as well.
The resort would have gift shops for humans and an onsite pet shop disney style that would have not only disney items for your pets but also have a variety of pet foods should you need any during your stay.

I have always felt that disney should offer some sort of pet friendly resort because there are so many who really like to travel with their best friends and I guess IMHO it would be a big seller as long as it was done in Disney style and not done too cheesy....and we all know Disney can do NICE!

Anyhow I know my vote/thought is sort of dorky but that's just me and I thought I would share.

Have a magical day!

I love this idea!!! I always thought they should have a dog-friendly resort on-site. That's the only crummy part about going to disney is having to leave my little dog (not really that little, he is tipping the scales at 95 pounds) at home, looking so sad! This pretty much sums it up. But in addition to a pet merchandise store, they could also have a dog bakery to get homemade dog biscuits and treats for your best friend. If they made this hotel, I would move to Florida and work there.

They could do a prehistoric one where the rooms are like caves. It could go with Dinosaur in AK and the new restaurant Rainforest Cafe is building.

Can you imagine the cave drawings on the walls in the rooms?

Hmmm......maybe too Flintstone?:confused3

We've stayed at Great Wolf Lodge and I loved the way the rooms are themed. each room had a different theme and accomodated a different amount of people. They had a kidcabin room and a wolf den room, as well as others. Take a look at their website, the rooms are amazing. Disney could do this easily and I think it would be a big hit!!!
